Can confirm pre85 will make the grid at the event, not big numbers, anyone still thinking about it put your entry in.

Jay Marmont headlines 2010 BGC Contracting King of the Cross
Autralian Motocross Champion Jay Marmont will headline the 2010 BGC Contracting King, Queen and KTM Kid of the Cross 25th Anniversary Spectacular this weekend at Southern Cross, 360 km east of Perth, WA, as some of the countries top riders battle for the huge $45,000 on offer.

Between 450-500 riders have entered for the Cross-Southern Cross Motocross Club-25th year anniversary event. This year is also hosts round 3 of the WAMX Womens State Motocross Championships, which will again attract the top female riders in the state and around the country.

Junior competitors will take to the track on Saturday with the stars of tomorrow battling it out for the KTM Kid of the Cross whilst the main event of the King and Queen of the Cross takes place on Sunday when the seniors hit the Circuit.

Last year saw an epic battle for the title between Dean Porter, Kim Ashkenazi, Tom Jones and Paul Grant. This year the battle intensifies with the big names of Australian motocross hitting town with fierce battles expected from Jay Marmont, Ryan Marmont, Craig Anderson and Kim Ashkenazi. Louis Calvin, Michael Addison and Dean Porter will represent the Wesrt and all are fresh from the National series and also still fighting out the WA MX state championships.

Last year’s Queen of the Cross event was dominated by New Zealand rider Josephine Adlam who clinched the state title, however work commitments prevent Jo’s back to back championship ambitions.

This season has seen the young ladies of WA motocross step up to the plate with the likes of local Kalgoorlie rider Jess Moore seemingly unstoppable, although still unable to hold off the dominant forces of Annissa Berichon, Hannah Lovett and Chelsea Blakers.

Last years runner-up Dimity-Lee Duke is desperate to make amends for last years elusive championship crown which slipped through her fingers in the last race of the last round in 2009, ironically held at Southern Cross. The girls have a break of just over a month before Round 4 and the grand finale of the inaugural 4 round Women’s WA State MX Championships concludes at the Southern Capes MX Challenge at Jindong on September 26th.

As well as the ladies competing, the other classes will included the Pro, Intermediate, Clubman, Vets, Quads and Pre 1985 classes from yesteryear, all competing for a share of the $45,000 prize money kitty, with the winner taking out the $10,000 prize!
