DOES THAT MEAN NO 400 SQUARIES
NO CONICAL FRONT HUB
NO REAR ALLOY HUBS
NO LATER CLUTCH OR IGNITION COVERS
NO ALLOY SWING ARMS
NO ALLOY BRAKE PEDALS
360S HAVE THE DECOMP AT THE FRONT OFF THE BARRELL SO THERE EASY TO ID

Paul...Stop panicking. The square barrel Maico is legal in all of its forms. To make it all legit you need oval cases not the later sand cast cases. I've run my 350 with conical hubs including an alloy rear for 20 years but I've been told that it's not correct so will be changing them.. Use the full width hub, steel rear and all is well. Don't worry about the other shit, nobody's going to knock you back for having an alloy brake pedal. Alloy swingarms are ilegal even though I have proof of the Boyd and Stellings arm on my Maico being available in 1969. I'm removing mine not because I'm scared of being chucked out but because I'm using it on my Rickman Maico project.

If I'm wrong and 350 and 400 squaries are ilegal for pre '70, Peter Bowen, Laurie Alderton, Mark Firkin, Daryl Lewis, Mick Cady, Chris Ellis, Cary L'Estrange and possibly a few more should give their championship trophies back, publicly apologise and the scrutineers who passed them sacked for ever. All of the above and more have won trophies at National level open meets on 400 and 350 squaries and not a word has ever been said to them to my knowledge.
