Valve plate in forks
« on: November 20, 2009, 07:57:25 pm »
When I stripped the forks in my 73 380 to fit the new damper rods & top out springs I found 1 fork had the shim facing down/away from the spring & the other with the shim upwards, on this 1 the shim had come adrift but was still able to be refitted to the valve. Am I correct in thinking the shim should be facing away from the spring? I haven't managed to find anything to show the set up in detail

The parts are 967-41-135 & 967-41-136 according to the parts book & fit right at the bottom of the fork leg. Will take a photo on the phone to post when I get time, have some work to do to my trials bike for this weekends camping/riding trip first
