Gaskets
« on: October 16, 2009, 10:47:30 pm »
I am having no luck getting a gasket kit for my '83Cagiva WMX 250 ( 190cc).

The bloke rebuilding the engine mentioned 20 thou green paper being required if I can't get a kit.

Can anyone assist with a source for kits?

Comments regarding the "green" paprer?

thanks,
AJ

Hope that helps.

There is no need for this 'special green' gasket paper. A company called James A Walker has paper called Sentinel(even green coloured if you like), you can buy off cuts pretty cheap. A set of Super Shite auto wad punches your kept in gaskets for life. Gaskets are without a doubt the single biggest rip off perpetuated on hapless consumers.
AJ if your having trouble you can send the old gasket to me or a rubbing of the cylinder base and I'll make you one for nothing. Is that cheap enough?
