Thinking about these engine changes, a good little bike would be a 1984/5 YZ125 with an IT175/200 motor. Remove waterpumps, radiators, hoses and the shrouds will act as air flow scoops. The wieght of the YZ125 was lite anyway but without the coollant it it would become lighter again and less top heavy. The power of a 200cc IT motor with a little work on the ports, YZ ignition, better pipe and jetted correctly would be a very lite, slim, good handling bike that has near the power of a 250.
Anyway, sorry for getting side tracked, back to the thread, 125's all the way.

Allbrid, your TS motor in the 'TS' is a better option. The frame with all the crud removed is lighter than the TM to begin with

I get the biggest smile on my dial on my RM 125 S . It is just sooo much fun! I like my big bores to but they have that Im going to kill you factor, a little niggle that there is work on Monday.

hi Doc, yes you are right, it is a light bike, so do you think l should keep my 185. the engine has excellent compression, l do have to any project though.
