you can get those caps from a guy in NZ who makes them. they are WB/Protec/Webco replicas. they are bit taller and usually gold but can get silver.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-TT500-SUZUKI-PE-175-250-400-AIR-FORK-CAPS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem270313691162QQitemZ270313691162QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

ask this seller. you need same thread as the ones in link above but just need to request them to be 36mm OD at top as the ones i think he useually makes are about 35 to allow for bar clearance on yamahas and later  DR/PE suzukis

these are the the NZ made ones

My thoughts exactly Walter. They'd be the last thing I'd put on any of my bikes, even if they turned me into Joel Robert. The ones in the eBay listing are cool but the above fuglies are like nothing I've seen before and bare no similarity to any Webco or Protec product I've seen.
Weird juju.  ???

yes Webco and protec  and white brothers did make them.  so they are period accessoies. i have some. also i got some NOS white brothers ones still in packet :o look in the 79 webco catalogue or any 80s WB catalogue and you will see them listed. they are air chamber caps that allow you to increase fluid level. Bob hannah used them. look in a VMX mag from this year from a couple issues ago and the article shows his genuine works yamaha and you will see them on his works KYB forks.  also see it here

http://www.mxworksbike.com/1979%20Yamaha%20OW40.htm

the Webco catalogue says.....

These are aftermarket/accessory large air chamber fork caps with extra volume that increases air and oil capacity for better control and promotes extended fade free operation. Fitted with air valves to permit pressurizing front suspension.

and these were also sold for the XL hondas with 23 inch front wheel so when you convert to 21 inch the longer caps allow you to slide the forks out further to restore correct geometry. also helpfull in this case on the RM 125 to extend forks out longer an inch so the forks match the 1 inch longer airshox as Caps is wishing to do.

here are some Protec ones on a DR400

Well there you go. Still fugly and with modern PD valves available, of doubtful usability. Walter?

I thought they were quite fugly looking too but didn't want to offend anyone by saying it outright :P each to their own, maybe if they wearn't anodized but still, given the choice I'd be hunting up the Suzuki items ;)
