what about a ball roller bearing behind the points, seen that done, slide fit on cam, just seal housing to be machined, would the XL 185/200 steel inset on the other end work as well as bushing there, btw TL head is physically smaller too than XL's circumference, :P
work, the curse of the racing class!!
if a hammer dosn't fix it,you have a electrical problem!!

There isn't much room behind the points and the cover from memory only has the seal area in it but the head has a small extra journal area. The 185 steel bush is the sort of thing that is needed but it is easier to make a new bush from bronze or alloy to fit the space after the cam and head have been re-machined back to round. Maching the head is a real prick as it is deep inside and almost impossible to see let alone measure while it is setup in the mill for line boring.

Hi Everyone,

OK, so I could hear the gears grinding, does this help?

Let me know if you want more detailed photos? This is a centre port and came to exactly as is, I thought TL 250 so I grabbed it but stand to be corrected.....
