CR125M stator cover
« on: August 28, 2007, 09:16:24 pm »
Between one '74, two '75's and three motors, there is not one set of cases or one stator cover that wasn't smashed to bits. Obviously it is a common problem, what i want to know is it just a maintenance issue, or is it a design fault that has a cure? I just acquired an intact sidecover, but i don't want to put it on until i am reasonably sure it wont get smashed to smithereens

Yep common fault right through to 77
my bike came intact but was warned of problems,
so I put on extra chain guides and a roller mounted to the side stand bracket
will post pictures to night.

My first 1974 CR125m i had in late 1970s was gone their 090. So had most others around at that time. Soon as chain derails or breaks side cover takes a hit. Bikes that have that area intact were those that were maintained and looked after or had little use.
