so, is pre 90 excepted now in the vinduro here in victoria

Generally speaking, in VIC pre 90 is not accepted.

And.... we don't want to start a 'Pre-90' debate in this thread. Do we?

--------------------------------------------------------------

Cookardinia Vinduro is in NSW, Holbrook (not far from VIC but still NSW), the format that has been decided is:

'25 Years or Older'

That means that this year you could enter with your 1989 model bike.

Cheers

This was one of the issues that was brought up at VERi's AGM at Harrow.
It was put to the members and it was very close to unanimous that VERi stay with Pre 85
There are some later models that are eligible and these have been listed on our website to try and make it clear for everyone.

Competitive Vinduro's was also put to the vote and it was also close to unanimous that VERi events stay non competitive.

Didn't you have a really nice IT 200 a couple of years ago Dave?
Why did you get rid of that one?

XR200. Cheap to buy, new parts easy to get, tons of used parts. Easy to ride, faster than you think. Veri exempt all years.
Look for streched noisy cam chains (only fit quality DID cam chains), oil burning and slipping kickstart gears.
Easily up graded to disk brake front ends.

From all reports I've heard that the XR200's are a good option, but.... I just can't do the 4-stroke thing.

I've ridden one, it was good fun (just hold it flat stick the whole way round) but I long for the 2-stroke power delivery.

For all the XR lovers out there...

I was just asking about pre 90, the ruling has been voted, end of story, pre 90 is not an issue, back to the thread, and the question that I have been asking, and the input has been rewarding.

Dave, back in late 80s I had an XT250 the wolf in the street year model ( I know not a world beater) my mate had an XR200 around the same year as mine, both bikes had some work done, and weren't slowish. Side by side off the mark I would keep with him til middle of 4th, and he'd start pulling away. I never had a ride on his bike, tho. So can't compare.

I once took my IT490 to get serviced, and the mechanic there said he used to pit for a rider who raced the IT200, and told me to ditch the beast, and try to get one. Said it was a well balanced bike, with usable power, handled well, and I would not be disappointed. He also said the KDX200 was a choice bike as well.
I didn't know you could get PE parts, especially 175 parts, so readily. A few people who I know whom have owned them, reckoned it was a struggle for parts.
Good luck whichever you go Dave.

                                                                                 Cheers, Mark.

I used to drink a lot.
I still do,but I used to,too.
