YZ465 float compatability

Have had the repaired float in my 465h start leaking again & ordered a new 1 through boats.net, was listed as available still but 3 weeks later they've come back to me with not currently available & no idea of whether Yamaha will get more made
Is there a plastic float from a later bike that fits & is still available new?

Found 1 on ebay, hopefully it will last but I'm still keen on finding out if a plastic float set can be fitted

Is the float plastic or brass Tony?

I found the hard way that if you add ANY solder to a brass float to repair it it floats much lower and stuffs up your float/fuel level

Drop the repaired float(s) in petrol and see if there is any difference in bouyancy

Float is brass.
Original had a hole rotted through the bottom of 1 float, got hold of a 250j carb for parts which had a good float but it cracked last year, had bought repaired by a jeweler mate but he missed the crack but redid it in the week before the johnny old
Will try the float out the vm36 on my CZ when I get time, hadn't thought to try it & not sure if the floats aren't seperate, if it fits then I'll look at getting another

The one I repaired was a pair of floats on the bar, usual style. When i dropped them into a container of petrol one side floated, one side sank. Brass floats float quite deep so it doesn't take much to sink them

hi all

I have both options if you are still needing
the bowl with plastic floats will go straight onto your carby only difference can be breather pipe not going straight up but on an angle ,you can modify plate attached to carby to clear
