I have a brand new genuine piston kit in the shed for an RM125N that I bought back in the day and never used.  It's a 2 ring setup and I would run with that to be honest.

The lower cast iron ring on the on the DT1 from Hell used to snag the exhaust port on the Warren Willing ported barrel and break so I left the bottom ring out and never had another problem.
