Frame earth

Have just powdercoated the frame of my cr125 , question is do i need to sand back where the engine mounts so the motor earths to the frame?

absolutely, also clean off the engine mount tabs

another idea might be to run an earth wire from the motor cases up to the coil mount instead of having to remove a good paint jobby. Maybe there's reasons why that's not a good idea. I'll have another drink & think about it. Bottom line is, motor's gotta be done up super tight in the frame. Cheers.

Have ground off the engine mount tabs , should i use a smear of grease or something similar to prevent rust or would this affect the earth?
