« on: September 04, 2012, 09:18:07 pm »
Does anyone know if fuel tank putty will work with Methanol ? Or is there a particular brand or type that has worked for you with methanol.

Any help greatly appreciated.

what sorta tank,glass,steel,or alu?,figuring as long as putty is allowed to cure,before refill,can't see a problem,just make sure it's a good seal repair,joint integrity??,good luck, :P

Hi Mick,
yeah I was a bit light on detail. CR125M Steel tank, put some fuel tank repair putty (some kind of erpoxy) on it tonight after grinding, wire buffing & cleaning with acetone. Had a 1 Hr cure, I gave it 2.5 Hr's and looks to have worked. Will recheck in the AM should be all go for CD9.

Cheers
