1984 Husqvarna TE510 Engine Oil Capacity
« on: August 12, 2012, 02:25:05 pm »
Hi, does anyone have the exact quantity of 4T oil required when changing oil on a 84 510TE? I have specs from a later TE510 which I've been using but last ride the bike started dumping oil into the stator cover. I'm hoping it's due to too much oil but most likely a main seal is failing!

1700 ml for the TX so I would think the same for the TE. Quaker State SAE 40 recommended in the spec sheet out of interest! Sounds like a seal to me. Check the oil reed is not stuck closed. Good luck

The specification sheet I have for my 83 TX is 1.8 litres and 10W 40. I change the oil every meeting or at least every 2nd meeting depending how hard its treated. Make sure the filtter located half way on the barrel is clean as it is for the topend lubrication. Oil is cheap 510 husky parts are expensive.
Pm me if you need more info.
