It is a new VW ute Bloody good car, no comparison to any of the Jap stuff

Or more like the Thailand stuff, which of the Japanese utes is assembled in Japan, inclusive of my Ford Ranger. Less distinction than I would like for the $$$$ between the Japanese stuff and Chinese and Korean these days.

I bought a new VW Golf R a few months back and I'm really happy with it.  I'm still amazed at how interested VW are in the 'buyer's experience' - almost to the point of being annoying.  If you're not getting any traction with the dealer, I'd write directly to VW Australia, CC the dealer principal and outline all of your concerns in dot points.

Give them the old "I was really happy to begin with as it's such a great ute etc., now I'm a bit disappointed, but if you do this, this and this I'll be a very happy camper again".

I'd bet the ranch they'll fix this right up for you, as they really want to make the Amarok sell well in Australia.
