HEAVEN Round 1 on March 15/16
« on: March 06, 2008, 06:36:20 pm »
Yep, the 2008 vintage motocross season for HEAVEN is kicking off in just over a week's time at the fun Clarence circuit near Lithgow. If you haven't got your entry in yet, then get to it. Late entries will attract a small penalty fee, but if you can get onto the boys by close of business Friday 7 March you'll be right.

Note that only new memberships will be accepted on the day.

Round one done and dusty,
Having already been to the three Higher profile vintage events this year, I must say It was quite good to
do a low key club round.
A good turn out with over 60 riders entered which would mean about twice that number of bikes, and riders from as far away as Merimbula and  Glen Innes
also good to see lots of new faces and first time entrants spread across the classes and from super quick too just getting out there and having fun,
I missed Saturdays free riding, arriving just in time for the riders briefing Sun morning , Happy faces all round and the water pumps working over time to get some moisture into the track.
the new committee working hard to get every thing under control and running to time, also trying to get everyone involved
so as the load was shared across many shoulders instead of just a few doing all the work,
sorry no pictures from me as I was either to busy or sitting in the shade trying to keep cool. Though I did see  a few camera's out there???
Personally had a great day with 2 wins in classic 125 and a 3rd and 4th against the 250's on the worryingly reliable CR,
Roll on round 2   ,  Canberra ,in April
Cheers
Noel

ps No the postie didn't race but I'm told it did a lot of laps on Saturday and the rider will return. ;D

Yep, a good day - big thanks to everyone involved in making it happen.

My week had been challenging, culminating in the ute having a Failure To Proceed on Friday, and then the CT1 pulling a stud out of the cases on Saturday (when I was already several hours late).
I was damn close to pulling the pin at 2pm on Saturday arvo, but I'm glad I didn't.

I pulled my best ever start, in the first race - equal second. Then I realised I had NFI where the first turn was and slowed down...  :D
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

Clarence rd 1 was our first glimpse at the VMX racing scene. What a fantastic bunch of people and well run event to the credit of the organisers and officials. Didn't manage to get to the start line due to a collarbone injury on Saturday but my son & I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and machinery on display.
Looking forward to Canberra !!!

I was there just on the Sunday,  but I gotta say this bike and rider is one to watch in the rest of the season.  Looks like he still has the power on after he clears the tabletop......
