Cappra 250 VB Primary drive
« on: July 17, 2011, 07:58:58 am »
Hi all
I'm busy with a rebuild on my 250VB motor. The parts handbook shows a flywheel of sorts (6660.036) at the primary gear. A later revision of the parts book shows no flywheel.

My motor has no flywheel: http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc198/farmer58za/?action=view&current=IMG_4448.jpg  although according to the engine numbers on the handbook, it should have one.

Can someone please advise whether the flywheel should be fitted.

Thanks in advance.
David

I checked my V75 & VB parts books, they both show an auxiliary flywheel integral with the drive pinion.  I guess if it has previously been running without, shouldn't be a problem.  Most european bikes were fairly flexible with minor changes within model numbers.

I'm no Monty expert but I thought flywheel weight = enduro, no flywheel = MX. Otherwise the same.

Only the Enduro models used an aux flywheel on the primary side.
