84 CR 250

Per leg

562 CC
19 OZ
146MM from top
5.75 inch

That should cover it.

Hmm ... I've been told different when it comes to the level from the top .... a fair bit less than 147mm?? Sorry to question you but are you certain of that and have you ridden with that level of fork oil in each leg?

Cheers

Easy way to check, use the 562mm which is straight out of the Honda manual, the measurment came from the Clymer manual

That would be the standard recommended setting but they were always too soft.. 120mm from the top would be a more suitable setting by todays standards.

Yes John correct but K20 was after the actual spec and that is waht is in the book.

I run more oil myself but too each his own.

Yep agree, each to his own.

By the way Kane, those forks on the XR should have been set to 130mm from the top.

Racetech recommends 125 mm for the 250 and 120mm for the 500.

Have fun at the modern track Kane.  I rode the XR on the "modern track" at Kenilworth late last year and the suspension was struggling to keep up to be honest.  Bottoming out all over the place so I gave up riding it on that track and switched back to the CR instead.

I look forward to seeing you at Coles Creek on the big girl  ;D
