RM125 A con rod ? Where to get one ? ANSWERED

Gents could someone point me in the right direction to get a Rod for my RM125A project.

Ebay in the States....only place you will get one and there usually on all the time.

I believe you can upgrade them to the larger little end bearing size of the latter years. 125B,C,. N etc.
Anyone on here done it?. I can find out off a mate if need be.

B & C rods can be used, but they have a smaller top end bearing. You will have to find 56mm piston to suit. An Elsinore piston can be used but has a higher compression ratio, so you'll have to adjust it unless you want to use high octane fuel.

Can,t get into this link right now but I found 2 rods on Ebay this arvo using the part number. Waiting for a price for shipping. But looks like I will be able to get something soon. The later model info is really helpfull too. Ta Pete.

Ah just got into that one now. And that is another one again. The rods I found had no pin or bearing.  Thanks for the help.

Use TS 125 rod kits and pistons , just turn the piston skirt down a bit.
All available from Suzuki or aftermarket , pistons available up to 2mm OS

I think the  RM uses a better quality BE bearing but the TS ones work fine and give long service .

Boys the result was I got a NOS rod from US Ebay for $40 usd. Bought the bearing and pin from Extreme Powersports in the USA. Shame they didn't send the full order I paid for. The rod is in and the motor sitting on the bench.

This RM125A has been a ground up rebuild, powder coated, NOS consumables, 2nd O/S sukuki piston, respoked etc etc and the list goes on.

I will be selling it once built and hoping someone in a clulb like Heaven will take it for a junior or similar.

Yeah kind of. The head-barrell and half of the pistons and rings worked out to be for a C - 1978 model. The Suzuki piston ended up being an A an in the rebuild. Took some working out. The gudgen pin on the A is different to the later model ones as is the bore size from Standard. It is easy to mix pistons etc up.  I'll give you a call soon.
