Front wheel is the same as all 80-82 twinshock PE 250/400. 77 uses same hub and same size alloy rim. The only differences you may find is spoke nipple hole size and possibly the grade/thickness of the alloy isnt is different to 80-82 but to the eye there is stuff all difference. Im pretty sure that the 77 doesnt have those rims with the little lip on the sides. So basically you will find your 400 front wheel slips right in ;)

Also if other bits will fit please feel free to advise I'd like to build this as another vinduro bike so I can still go when the 400's are being worked on.

Interesting K does any one know if i could run 79 forks and trees?

79-82 TS250 forks with the short underhang below the axle are also very close to the original 77PE forks. Same with SP370/400  and DR400S forks that are all 36mm and have the short sliders and are shorter overall than 78-82 PE forks.
