If it will help.... early Honda SL and XL 125/185 forks were 31mm with 12mm axle. CT125 and later XL models had leading axle forks again with 12mm axle.

i have to get it done by friday, or my bikes rego will get canceled. so i cant do it 'some other time'
thanks for the offer anyway.. not trying to leave anything till the last minute, but it should of passed a rwc..

will ring around a few more wreckers and see what turns up but i cant even get parts to fix the forks
without ordering them in, so the only way it is possible to fix my prob by friday is a 2nd hand set/front end.

Whats actually wrong with them ?

Some one can lend you a front end im sure, just to get it over the line.  Keep asking and psot up where you are so people can see how close you are to be able to help.

i am in melbourne. 5 min from the city.

something in the dampening stuff.. springs, seals and oil level are all fine. just feels squishy and wont rebound properly.

Try putting a preload spacer on top of the springs. That should give you the rebound to get past the RW if thats all the problem is. Sounds like the springs have sagged out.
WANTED. Canams;all models,complete or parts.SWM stuff too!

Its going to be either a bent fork, too heavy oil or sagged springs. Not much to go wrong with those forks.

'if' the wrong width axle spacers are fitted this can cause binding in the forks, especially if the spacers are not wide enough and the forks are pulled together when the axle nut is tightened. Just a thought...

will check it now.  i have been told by a couple of places just chuck some more oil in it,
preferably a heavy grade engine oil. although i dont know if that is a good idea.. would the seals hold up?

Putting in heavier oil is only going to make the rebound situation worse. Too much oil can cause the seals to leak with use. Just use the specified quantity and viscosity.
