I was originaly chasing 79 wheels & forks my my own HL to ride in Pre 80.
It's taken me so long to get around to keeping a frame for myself that Pre 80 no longer exists so I thought I may as well have the "H" forks with the twin leader if I have to ride it in Evo.
But now I'm leaning towards D model stuff to make it Pre 78 compatible.
I beleive this is where they would be better off as the technology / design is more in line with Pre 78.

Just swap the front end and you can run the HL in almost anything. Mines staying as it is, suspension wise though I do have a plan for a shit kicker horsepower motor. Next step is Daytona head and possibly run methanol.

Guys, for my two cents worth I think the GMC HL500 is a bloody sexy looking machine.  So much so that I am building one.  Given I'm unlikely to ever afford or find the real think.  The beauty now is that we can build to our own personal taste.
