Fox air Shocks

Talkin to a bloke at work a while back about old dirt bikes. He off handedly mentioned that he hadn,t owned a dirt bike in 30 years BUT !!! happened to have a pair of almost new FOX AIR SHOCKS sitting in his garage.  Trying not to appear overly excited I casually asked if he would like to sell them and if so how much???!!!!    Oh about $300 was his casual reply. " I,ll take them off your hands" I replied back while trying to hold my over excited composure.  As I recalled  seeing a pair sell on Ebay last year for US $1200..       Anyway what I would like to ask anyone who has a set is ..how much air pressure do I put in them,bearing in mind that I weigh 95kg on a good day, and I would like to be able to pillion my missus  on my Bully Frontera and she weighs about 55kg ,   regards lyle

You could start with about 80lb in the top chamber and 130 in the lower but it varies from bike to bike depending on the leverage ratio of the rear suspension.
$1200 for a set is over the top when they regularly go for around $300 US on ebay.

Keep looking on ebay US, they are out there. I've got 3 pairs here.

Yeah they are always on ebay, i have  2 pairs. Frosty they are not easy to fit to PE's. Its possible but will cost a bit extra in special made mounts. Also if you want them for the PE, dont get ones that are already 400mm because they will have too much travel and you will oonly have to shorten bodies and shafts anyway. Get some around the 14.75/15 inch mark they will have the right travel and then all you need is longer top and bottom mounts. If you start with a long set you will only need to shorten bodies and shafts which will just be extra cost.

I know of one lucky chap who bid on some poorly worded 'old suzuki rear shocks' - US$21.00 total to his door.
But you already knew that, if you had read the SHOCKS FAQ.
