I have a pair of Koni 23x as well. They are currently with a local suspension expert who has told me he can do them. After reading your experience I'm not so sure. You can give me a call on 0401692800 and I'll let you know how I get on.

Husqvarna / Original Owners Manual - CR 125
« on: July 01, 2008, 09:41:41 pm »
Gents,

Any interest in a new original owners manual for a CR 125 around the 76-77 model? Printed in Sweden but is written in English.

Thanks

Pete

Ash,

I might be able to use the 38mm forks. Do you know what they came off, a brand and a price please.

Husqvarna / Re: Aluminium vs Steel Clutch Plates

Young Steve,

I have spoke to my Husky Guru in Sweden regarding the limits. From new, the fibre plates should be 3.5mm thick and the alloy ones 1.5mm. Yours sound in spec to me.

Young Dave and others,

Our Svenska Mate Jens is having us on. I have been to Sweden in search of the elusive Swedish built air cooled muvva. And yes they have them there, but no one was giving them away and most of the ones I saw (CR390 and CR430's) looked like they had been riden, raped and bashed by a hord of vikings. Very sad units with the added cost of carting the things half way around the world. Post that trip I put plan C into place which resulted in my taking possession of a pre loved CR 430. Made in Sweden down to the last nut and bolt. They are here in Oz, just need to look hard.

All the best

Young Trev,

I have just pulled out my CR390 owners manual. Page 30 point 5 refers to radial play between the cogwheel and the clutch ring. Says, `If so replace the rubber buffers with new ones' Simple if you have ths suckers.

Also checked a parts manual for a CR 240 (circa around you bikes age) and it clearly shows the rubber buffers. It gives the description as `Damping Element'  Part # 16 11 152-01.

Hope this helps a bit. Let me know how you go getting them. I may be able to get them, but no promises.

All the best

Husky61,

Did you let anything go yet ???

No, not a buyer, just an interested owner of a very original 1982 CR430. I'm interested in learning more about the bikes etc etc. Have been to the Husqvarna Museum in Sweden and was blown away. They even have an Australian exhibit. It's a `still in the crate' late Swedish built auto. Appears it was sent to Husky Imports instead of Canada. So it sat for years before being delivered back. If you chaps ever get the chance take the look at the place. They were also very helpful with some history on mine.

Anyway all the best,

Pete

Aussie,

I have a 1980 KTM 250 you might be interested in talking to me about. I.m in the process of doing some preliminary checks to id it. It's well used, quite straight and original. Not a bad start at all.

Regards

Pete
