Thats great nick, thanks for the offer but I think I will drive there as I got the KTM running sweet after I swapped carbies over from the ATK, I'm planning on taking the KTM tomorrow, if they dont let me join in then I will just spectate as I havent pre-entered

No mate' ive been really slack with maintenance, the Dellorto carby has issues going back nearly a year ago, I meant to get it going for CD9 but its crept up on me fast
I'll drag it out of the shed tomorrow ... if my spare tank will fit yours, you can borrow it.

My god!, do you have three of them? got any pics? I was thinking of getting a hotter cam for the ATK for a little more power and top end, I am pretty sure my 84 KTM would smoke the ATK, is your race bike modded?. I very nearly bought a different 94 model ATK a while back but someone else bought it just a few hours before I got there, It was a real nice one that had a custom made alloy tank and race cam and was Justins personal bike who owns 'Trooper Lu's Garage' so I was onto this one like shite to a blanket. I also have a real tidy 96 CRF450x and 07 CR500AFX but as far as the four strokes go as good as the CRF is I prefer the old school grunt and lugging power and reliability of the Rotax.

There was a breakdown in communications here somewhere JohnnyO but im glad I checked because I thought my ATK was a 94 model......which it may well be but aust complianced in 96.

« on: May 30, 2011, 08:01:19 pm »At a 4 stroke fun day at Veresdale years ago a guy turned up on one and there were some snickers especially when he used the electric start which was a bit whimpy back then.Dave's bike was a '96 and this one's a '99 model.
The snickers stopped when he went out and proceeded to blow everyone away doing huge roosts around the outside of people and just 2 gears higher everywhere - it was David Armstrong!
Was fantastic to see it and David in action.
I see thats Qld registered, wonder if it was David's bike?
94 model actually, I think the 96 or 97 models onwards had the odd ball one sided frame.

Hey! I can update you on that bike, I bought it from a bloke who resides at Coffs Harbour, we met at port Macquarie for pick up, I'm a sucker for these rotax engines and I really wanted one with an electric leg.
this pic was taken at Port mac maccas just after loading on my ute;
Oh and it wasn't Davids bike, although it doesn't feel right to advertise the previous owners name, he took it for one last ride around the block and I have to say my first impression of him as a rider was that he's a lunatic, he thrashed the beejeesus out of it I don't think the guy has any mechanical sympathy, I was glad to see him get off of it (not that I have anything against the guy personally). Its not in the condition that the advertisement would have you believe, it needs a bit of tlc but its relatively pretty tidy just the same...................my other rotax kick start;

No mate I am going up to Glendon rock bike park near Warwick in july for a mates 40th, cant do a trip like that twice in 2 months. I was hoping CD8 would have been a little closer to me this year.
