MA is owned by the SCB's (MV, MNSW etc) it was set up in my opinion to manage MAIL and put some distance between the SCB and the risk. Its a Federation with this organisation - the power and control is with the State Controlling Bodies and their own self interest.

The problem is as I see it is like this - I know that an MA or SCB meeting I have professional people and satisfactory insurance behind the goings on. I have seen the insurance policy from the AMA - suggest you read it if you want to ride AMA or accept the risk.

I also think that another competitor to MA / SCB's is a long over due good thing.

Just in the end stages of a resto on an AJS Stormer; my question is - these things did not leave the factory with a kill switch so need to add one so my plan is to splice to the negative on the coil a single wire to run to a button. Am I on the right track? - is grounding the neg the right way to put a kill switch on this thing. (points and mag)

Would be good if the pre 75 rules were the same so pre 75 bikes could be run as they were factory made without having to fit spacers

What Pre 75 models came with too much travel?

the thing to do is ditch the TM clutch in favor of the RM straight cut version - big difference for the engine. If you have the bits consign the TM clutch to shelf stock....

20k is possibly a stretch - there are costs, medical, MA fees, trophy costs etc all / or most anyway of which become a manageable choice for the promoter.  In my experience, running the event has been a profitable venture for the club - as it should be.

I have no idea where the next Nationals will be but think NSW would be a great outcome if it could be arranged. there are a bunch of tracks that could be used but its the enthusiasm of those wanting to arrange the event that will dictate the success or not.
I have always looked at Grafton MX Track and the facility there to run an event and wonder if there are places like this that are a little left field of what we expect that could offer a venue to run the event. Agree that Dargle would be an outstanding event but not sure about who or how it would be organised - Its my hope that racing at a National level is not working toward extinction.

Any one heard how it went?

Had a great time Bazza; the track was great and really suitable for the old and new VMX machines. Good thing I rode the hard enduro on a trials bike - I needed it!
Was great to catch up with so many old friends, some I have not seen for years.
Huge thanks to Ken and the team for all the hard work that makes events like this happen.

YEP 100% agree - if crashing was an a category of racing then I'm the champ on a trials bike

Ken has asked me to set some trials sections at CD15 and I'll be bringing along some old trials bikes.

I'll set sections to suit what other trials riders want, so here is your chance to get what you like to ride  otherwise it will just be what I think is right while wearing my devious section-setter's hat.
Please post up any special requests for the sections and also how about what you are going to bring along.
