1979 YZ250F FOR SALE NOT RUNNING PROJECT BIKE, YELLOW TANK. $1500.00

IMPORT USA MODEL. NEEDS RECO. GOOD BASE FOR A PROJECT BIKE.

HAS NEW PISTON & BORED I'M TOLD?
BOTTOM END NEEDS DONE, MAIN BEARING RUMBLES
RIMS & SPOKES ARE GOOD.
FORK CHROME IS GOOD, NONE RUSTY OR CHIPPED.
FRAME AND SWINGARM/SHOCK IS GOOD,
CRANK CASES LOOK GOOD. MATCHING FRAME & ENGINE NUMBERS.

MISSING THE FOLLOWING PARTS:
- MUFFLER
- CABLES
- CARB
- KICK START LEVER
- SEAT COVER IS GONE BUT FOAM IS THERE.
- SIDE COVERS & REAR FENDER.
- SIDE COVER
- AIR FILTER AND CAGE GONE.

Just a quick intro into me and thanks to all running this great forum.

Back ground I've been riding and racing off road bikes since is was eight ( now I'm old ) Also motorcycle mechanic for some 28 yrs but please don't hate me for that!

Originally from the deep south island of NZ now in Melbourne for years and years. Love the riding but sorry to say Iv'e never been to classic/VMX mx event so things must change. So when and where's the first one?

I have a few bikes in the shed as I,m sure we all do. Time to dust em off and have a crack.

Thanks I'll guess I will keep it for a bit then.

I think I need to ride it at least once to see what every one is on about then see if it stays or goes. Would rather have a early 1980's 250 with some suspension I think ( better for my knackered knees )

Oh, ok.
What was considered a good 250 in 75 ? And what would of been the biggest seller is aus of that time.
