Hi from Melbourne
« on: January 10, 2014, 11:12:55 pm »
Just a quick intro into me and thanks to all running this great forum.

Back ground I've been riding and racing off road bikes since is was eight ( now I'm old ) Also motorcycle mechanic for some 28 yrs but please don't hate me for that!

Originally from the deep south island of NZ now in Melbourne for years and years. Love the riding but sorry to say Iv'e never been to classic/VMX mx event so things must change. So when and where's the first one?

I have a few bikes in the shed as I,m sure we all do. Time to dust em off and have a crack.

See you soon I hope.

Welcome to the scene, I'm also in Vic, also worked in the bike industry for 40 years, we may have crossed paths.

Probably one of the first rides that a few of the vmx boys ride at is the Mitchell Recreational Club ride days at Broadford, the first for the year is next Sunday (19th), if you have a bike ready to go, check the website   www.mrmcc.org.au

The bikes you have will determine which race events you can ride at - CSC (Classic Scramble Club) is up to 'Pre 78', VCM (Victorian Classic Motocross) is up to 'Evo' and Viper is Anything from 'Evo' forward.  I haven't see any calendars for 2014 yet.

Regards, John
