Haven't ridden it yet because it is extremely hot over here. Just sitting on the bike it works very well.

It's been almost a year since I posted last. I had a major mishap on a bike and messed my hip, leg, ankle, and broke my back so I was out of commission for awhile. Now that I am back at it I messed with the CZ this last week. I've seen this done so I had to make one for myself. It shortens the shift throw about 50%.

I like that color Tony compared to the hideous bright gold that most people paint them.

Happy to help you out Zane. I hadn't heard from you and didn't know if you received the package yet. Keep us updated on how it works for you. I was kinda thinking on the color of one shade lighter would be even closer.

Scott

I did my wheels with an ACE Hardware (US store) metallic brass that I think looks closer to the original finish which I don't think can be duplicated. I don't care for the really bright gold hubs.

A 32mm carb is way small for the 250. Bump it up to a 34MM. I tried the 36mm but the bikes responded better with a 34mm.

The guy who built the tank for me is Lanny Jay over here in the states. He does really nice work. I put some carbon fiber looking material on the side of the tank for protection and carved up a head into a porcupine look just recently.

This bike is somewhat newer than 1975. I built it for the CZ World Championships here in the states back in the early 90's. It ran in the unlimited class.

Haven't had a chance to post in awhile. I had a custom tank built and this bike works great.

Husqvarna / Re: '78 OR390 shocks

The Curnutt's you have work really well in cross country and desert type terrain. Motocross they work good if you get used to them. The faster you go the better they work. You really can't tell if they are working properly unless you are riding the bike. They are somewhat easily rebuildable if you can get seals down under, charging them with Nitrogen would be your problem without the special tool. Those shocks you have were set up for an average rider at the time of#180lbs. They are somewhat a delicate shock as you don't want to turn the rods with the shock extended as you can really screw up the internals. You need to compress the shock about !1/2 way to not damage them. I more than likely assembled those as I worked for Charles Curnutt from 1975-1982.

If you need help with them just ask. I am doing a service here in the states. Their are only 2 people that know about these more than me........Charles Curnutt and his son Charlie Jr.

I looked at the VIN chart from the USA and it would be a 1980 model if that helps.
