Wanted / Re: 1985 Honda CR250 front wheel, caliper and caliper bracket

None of that stuff, but do have a bunch of '85 CR250 gearbox parts if you need/want them.  No idea of condition (I think serviceable) but free to a good home....

Introductions / Re: Heya Folks! From Perth WA.

The '69 is of course the first TS and so iconic - good choice.  Lots inherited from a T250 road bike but lots not.  I did a resto on one myself a few years ago so got acquainted with it.  Remember the first time hoiking the bottom end off the garage floor - could hardly lift it!!  Talk about solid.  And twin main bearings on each end of the crank no less.  Are you doing a full OEM resto?  Much parts needed (not that I have any anymore)?  Always an adventure.....

Great summary of your life in dirt bikes Colin, thanks. Always interesting to read about others' experiences.  Great to hear you didn't hold back when you finally got back into it, good range of bikes there, plenty to keep you gainfully occupied with.  And that vmax......icing on the cake mate!!

General Discussion / Re: What is your 1st memory of Motocross
« on: July 05, 2017, 09:34:16 am »
Mid seventies Mr Motocross rounds at Amaroo Park. I was 15 and lived not far away, and was totally infatuated with dirt bikes and mx. Pored over every edition of Dirt Bike, MXA, Trail and Track and ADB. Per Klitland, the Floods, Anthony Gunter and Gally of course.  Reed valves.....laid down shocks......monoshock....up pipes.....the first Elsinores.....

Such a heady time (especially when you include the 'other' type of glossy mags I obsessed over at that time.....).

That is a top notch restoration of a highly iconic bike - could well get that money from the right collector. (who might well reside in the states or Europe....).

Foto Forum / Re: Coopers Gully a Blast from the Past ....MotoCross .

The Coopers Gully days were damn fine days weren't they?  A hugely memorable time for us in the Canberra VMX circle.  Early starts tho to get down to Bega in time - 5am meetups on the highway just south of Canberra, convoy drive there, race/pit talk all day, then head home, stopping for classic meat pies on the way.  Graeme, Dennis, Lex, Glenn, Eric.  I was lucky enough to join this august group in time to enjoy three or so years of fabulous coopers gully grasstrack outings before times changed and it was no more (for us anyway).

I think the last one was one that Graeme and I went to in maybe 2010 (?), where Graeme got taken out heavily in the first corner of the first race, and kept it up (the crashing) all day long.

And that as they say was that!

Gosh, that's Daniel!  Slightly bigger version of the kid who used to tag along with his dad to race ACT MX rounds on his 85SX.....now a handsome young man.  Certainly model material.

Terrific track especially the length - certainly felt out in the boonies after half hour not seeing anything but roos and trees....
