HI
I finally got your email today (you sent it last year???) Not sure what Yahoo.com.au is doing to me, I will respond there
Yes am interested also after a cylinder with no fin damage? and a tank rubber at rear that holds the tank to frame.
Original side covers and air scoops with no cracks or deep scratchs (deep as in when i remove them i take more than 1mm depth to do so)

most of the other parts I asked about I have now made from scratch, so only need the clutch cover and the aother bits above
Oh if you see a head, no fin damage with a decompressor in it I am after that too, needs to have the piece where air scoop bolts to it in tact also

Wanted / 1984 CR 500 Clutch Cover Wanted
« on: December 05, 2019, 09:18:39 am »
Hi
I am after a 1984 CR500 clutch Cover, prefer undamaged / repaired as I have one of those now looking for a good one.
Also if anyone knows which tank strap of the more modern bikes will suit an 84 cr 500 tank. The water cooled ones are too long and I was told a CRF150R would work  if anyone knows that would be helpful.

same part number for 125 250 500 for 84 and 85 and 86 so they must all be the same
then again part numbers sometimes can be misleading (XL600 tappet adjuster screws had one number but 2 diameter threads?????)

needing lots of stuff have been getting some from ebay but last piece came from VMX Unlimted in Holland and it went straight to the rubbish, was a cheap nasty slider for the swingarm without indents for the washers and not wide enough wrote back to them but they didnt care they had the cash.
So am looking for more reputable ways and yes a forwarder would be nice but I dont have one
Finally too old to have a facebook account, probably should though as a few people have told me that
thanks anyway

HI
I am wondering if there is a link to a 84 CR500 page with all the bits people have found that fit or need doing etc
or helpful sites to find obscure parts for the old girl.

General Discussion / Re: husq wr500 vs xc500 1983/4 main differences.
« on: August 09, 2019, 08:58:19 am »
I had the XC and it was the same as the CR but had a headlight and taillight and could be registered (Mine was) it had a squeeze horn from a pushbike and total loss battery for the blinkers (from an Yam IT175 aftermarket blinkers). I used to take the light off swap the rear guard and ride MX on it.
I think the shop at Penrith were I bought them (I also had the 84 and it was the same but plastic tank) , were doing them up to be registered?
The wr's had lights and softer suspension and wider ratio gears (Even faster top speeds), They were registerable too but I dont think Penrith was dodging them to pass rego?
In 80's, If you wanted a mxer with lights you bought the XC husky, then/or the Maico or later there was Woodys CR transformations
If you wanted a Euro Enduro then you went WR.
