For Sale / Official 70s Suzuki MX Pants
« on: December 01, 2016, 12:57:15 pm »
Official Suzuki style vintage motocross pants. Pants are in excellent condition with no holes, rips, tears, etc. Leather is in nice shape and not cracked or dried out. Size 38. Colors are much more vibrant in person, they look washed out due to lighting.  Located in US but ship international.  Not sure what they are worth so im letting the market decide.  No reserve. http://www.ebay.com/itm/182372540051?item=182372540051&viewitem=&vxp=mtr

Just to update, I split the cases and replaced the bearings and seals.  The new crank bearings fit much snugger on the crank so all is well.  Anyone know if there is a transmission vent?  Does it even need one?  I am using TS cases if that matters.

Thanks guys.  I replaced the seal and am going to run as is next weekend.  I just did the bottom end of my KX500 and will be doing the TM next week once I get all of the parts in.  Appreciate all of the advise!

Thanks David.  I have a 1 hour cross country race next week and a 3 hour endurance race in 3 weeks.  If this was your bike would you feel comfortable running as is?  I have no reason to think that the bottom end has ever been cracked open.  Here is a short vid.

Should also mention that the inner race spins with the crank when I kick it over.

Suzuki / Stupid question: TM250 Crank Bearings

Hey guys, I have what I think is a stupid question but need reassurance.  My TM250 was running great other than a hanging idle and the plug showing a little lean.  No weird vibrations or anything.  So I pulled the LH crank seal to replace and found that the inner race of the bearing spins freely around the crank.  I am correct in that cannot be right?

Thanks!

Suzuki / Re: TM250 Up Pipe

Thanks guys,
I managed to find a bash guard and as long as it works with my aftermarket pipe we should be good.  Otherwise I found a beat up stocker that I might pick up.  Long term I will probably try to get some sort of up pipe created.

Lozza, never been on the RGV forum before.  Spend some time at 2strokeworld.com so maybe from there?

Suzuki / TM250 Up Pipe

Hey Guys,
I plan on running my TM250 in a 3 hour enduro type race, http://www.vcgp.com/, and am a little worried about the down pipe getting smashed up.  Anyone know of or ever see a up pipe for any of the TM bikes?

Thanks!

For tires, just get another rear wheel and bolt the front hub to it with some spacers.  Then you can run some modern atv tires.  Check out my post on http://www.2strokeworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=18332.msg138662#msg138662 for the details.  If you want, I have some spacers made, will just charge shipping.

Would love to see more pics of your TM.  How does it do on the track?

Not that these are great or even good shots, but this is the pipe on my TM250 Roar Racer made by my very good friend, Leigh.  He has made heaps of chambers for our GT750 triple road racers and side cars in the past and each pipe really is a work of art.  Every one is custom and painstakingly made.  I just wish I had half his talent .. just half .. then I'd be pretty bloody good

I spent about an hour trying to get the bloody thing undone  >:(  in the end all the bad language payed dividends' while it was apart I made this tool up .
I can fax you a outline so you can copy it if that's any help ??? just email me

Oldfart or anyone who has a working tool, if you wouldnt mind, could you measure the size and post?  I am in the same situation and am getting tired of randomly guessing  :P.  Otherwise I will have to do the plastic pipe trick to get the size.  Thanks!

Does anyone know if there are any differences between 72-73 and 74-75 TM250 heads other than the fin layout?  Squish or combustion chamber volume? Does one cool better than the other?  Also does anyone have any experience with reworking the head or porting on the 72-73?  Wondering if there is much to gain or the results.  Just some curiosity I have.

Mine was doing the same thing a bit at the ice race last weekend.  Never has done it before so I was thinking it was the temperature, about 10F.  My best guess would be either fuel or timing.  I never bothered checking since it ran like a top once started.
