General Discussion / Re: Is this the new "Yamaha" ???

Believe it or not they are actually quite a good bike.I bought one brand new from DDR it was called a DDR mx200,looked the same as a crf100 and just as reliable but about twice the weight. We had it for around 18 months never had a problem with it and when I finally sold it the bike had sat in the garage for about 3 months so I thought I better make sure it still starts the only thing then was the battery went flat, but with stale fuel and 3 kicks and off it went ;D.

I'm with sorelegs,my wifes car 2012 Lancer has leather trim, heaters in front seats, touch screen stereo which is also reverse camera, reverse sensors, air con, cruise control, abs brakes, traction control electric windows plus a bunch of other electric shite.Although it is a nice car I'd rather drive my HR Holden any day,Ive driven both of them to Sydney and back and I know which one I was more alert in(and it wasn't because I was uncomfortable in the HR it's just as comfy as the Lancer or better).I've had kids from my 13yo son up to 20yo friends of my daughters in the car all had to be shown how to open the doors both from the outside and inside and none of them even knew how to get the windows to open quite funny I think.Give me my HR to drive any day over a new car. 8)

A young fella I know when I was living in whalan was cleaning parts for his rm80 he was cleaning them in petrol in his laundry, put some petrol in a ice cream container put parts in and added hot water fumes rose from the hot water and got to the pilot light for the gas hot water system. No skin grafts but some very bad burns and about a month and a half stay in mt druitt hospital did the same thing about 3 months later then they realised why it was happening.

Thanx for the comments everyone.Only other thing to do is get some decent gas shocks to stiffen it up a bit.It looked like a 4 wheel drive when I got it and drove like a bag of shite.Needed a wheel align badly took it for rego the day after I picked it up the bloke passed it but said it needed an outer right tie rod end and right wheel bearing.I put it in got it lowered tie rod end and bearing done wheel align drove perfectly. Then got the white walls fitted put 1.5"lowering blocks in the back and fitted my old stereo from my corolla with a few added extras like 340w kenwood monoblock amp(wich is a one channel amp) and a 1000w 12" sony sub in the boot.Sub and amp will never have doof doof through them though being an old punk only heavy stuff ;D .Cheers.That 2 door ford and the rods are great,we have a couple of places up here in brisvagas one on a friday night at acacia ridge its a shopping centre car park they also have a couple of take away places and they have a weekly car meet, all oldskool stuff hot rods etc, one on a saturday night at browns plains called kosmos kitchen same sort of thing no burnouts or stupid shite is tolerated and the police don't seem to mind they don't come in defecting cars they often drive through make sure everyone is behaving and usually stop for a chat.

Thanx firko don't know what brand the wheels are they have speedy centres but that don't mean anything really.I know there called hustlers there was a couple of companys that made them.I think aunger were the most popular ones,I was tossing up weather to paint the centres satin black but once I gave them a bit of a polish and put the white walls on decided to leave them blue.Cheers.

Cheapest I could find hr rims were 13x4.5 standard size and were torana style and there $85 per rim.Anything 13x7 for early holden dear as poison.Probably could get 14" cheaper but 14" on hd-hr look shite.HK-T-G are the same stud pattern as HR and the 14" are more popular as they still manufactor them for trailers most trailer places sell them for around $40 a rim.

There's a bloke selling 13" standard early holden rims on ebay 13x6 and 13x7 no tyres just cleaned up and painted $795 a set and for standard 13x4.5 painted white $395 a set.Yet the same bloke has a fully polished set of ansen(us racer type) 13x7 for $895 don't know how he works his prices out as the ansens should be worth 3 times what the stockers are worth.
