Unfortunately I won't be riding this year, hopefully next year. I will be doing the officialdom stuff this year and trying to ensure that the event goes "off". Can't wait to watch the racing though! Should be excellent.

It is Pre 80 , with EVO guidlines applying ie air cooled, drum brakes, non linkage suspension.

The plan is for the track to be quickly groomed before the Pre 75 era gets back onto the track.

VMX'rs
Just a couple of quick notes about the event.

The brief for this event was to keep it simple and to be a bit different to the other VMX events that are happening across our wide brown land. Along with this was the notion of getting back to "where it all started" with what was undoubtedly the most prestigious event on the motocross calendar.

Unsure of how the event would be recieved or supported ( by number of entries ), we decided to have a one day format with limited grids and the age restraint in place for the first event. The success of this first event will determine where the event goes to in the future. Who knows, maybe it will turn into a multiple round series across a number of states but we need to crawl before we run , hence how we have arrived at our current format. We are hoping that the event becomes "bigger than Ben Hur". We wanted to get at least four rounds of racing in for each era in the one day, hence why we have limited the number of entries to one full grid.

The fact is that we will not be able to please 100% of the VMX community with the format,( so I invite "constructive" critiscism to be emailed to myself at dantydd@gmail.com) . We have to start somewhere so please understand that there has been quite a lot of discussion, planning, thought and time put in by a number of VMX enthusiasts to get to the point where we can make this event happen.
So please, if you would like to see this event format succeed (as much as we do ), the best way to do it is get your entries in from September 1 and then bring yourself and as many supporters as you can along to the event and help relive the glory days of Aussie MX.

Cheers

Shaun,
I may have one at home, I will have a look and let you know. Would your mate be interested in a single carb manifold and carby to suit the 350 as well? Have a SUDCO brand manifold and I think its a Mikinu carb to suit. Let me know when you get a chance. Cheers.

Might need more than the electric blanket I think! Called in at track on way home from Lithgow. At 11:45am, still full sheet of ice covering the small dam near the finish tabletop! Holly Crap!!!
Track not looking to bad, still needs to be groomed though. Lots of tree branches down on the road in and couple of big branches across the road just before the entry gate. If I can work out how to, I will put up some photo's that I took this morning.
Take plenty of woolies for next weekend, and thermals and what ever else to keep you warm if your camping.

Who's camping on the weekend? Going to need plenty of wood for fires I reckon. Driving past the track this morning and the ground around the turn off was a sea of white! Bloody freezing!
