I sent some pics of the rear fender to your email address Rob, but I think there may have been some sort of delivery problem. I may have also called you Mark for some reason? Anyway, let me know if you got the pics. Cheers, Rod.

Wanted / KLX 250 rear wheel
« on: May 04, 2013, 12:09:01 PM »
Hi, looking for an early 80's KLX 250 rear wheel. Spokes and rim don't have to be perfect but need the hub to be in good condition. Thanks for any help. Rod.

DC Plastics makes a replica of the old M Robert numberplate/mudguard. I've seen a few NOS originals on some of the Euro ebay sites lately as well. I've got a red one that has never been mounted but has a little shelf wear if you're interested.

First Reagan and now Thatcher. The old bogeyman/bogeywoman? of 80's punk and hardcore. Spent a lot of my youth listening to Crass, amongst countless others, and still do. Still plenty for people to be pissed about now, probably more so. Thatcher, crush the unions in her own country while singing the praises of Solidarity. Good riddance.

Foto Forum / Re: What did your Dad ride
« on: February 05, 2013, 10:46:17 AM »
Some photos of my Dad from when he raced in the late 60's early 70's.

Triton 650 Bathurst Easter 1969

When he was the swinger racing sidecars. Amaroo Park 1971

Swinger again. Bathurst 1973

Since then he's owned more bikes then I can remember, mostly Kawasaki, but currently rides a Suzuki 1200 Bandit and a 650 V-Strom.

Thanks again Alison, that's just what I'm looking for. Excellent stuff.

Wanted / Joel Robert Sidi re-issues
« on: January 16, 2013, 01:52:13 PM »
Looking for a pair of Joel Robert Sidi re-issues in size 10 to 11, new or used. Also a Koho Finn Fighter facemask, the first type with no trim and the 3 diamond shaped air holes in front. Cash or have stuff I can swap if you're interested. Long shots I know but it's worth trying.

Wow, thanks Alison. Just what I was looking for. I guess Roger's taken that many photo's that he's forgotten what he had! I'm glad he took them though. Thanks again to everyone who replied to my post. Cheers Rod.

Great memory SON. I only lived about 1/2 an hour away from Curroo, yet never went there. My dad was into roadracing and I was only a kid at the time, so I saw plenty of roadracing and not much else. VMX247 I checked the forum under "Wallan" but most of Roger's pictures have been deleted. I contacted him, but he can't remember having a picture of Smythe and the Kawi. The program for the Wallan round of Mr Motocross was interesting though. I read the story about Frank Stanborough in VMX. It sounds like those bikes did the rounds. Good to see they are still in one piece. The 250 looked a bit more developed then the 400 when it left the factory race dept, notwithstanding the improvements they got when they were out here.

Found one image online after looking for hours. If I didn't notice the 01 numberplate and AMCO on the chest protector I wouldn't have known.

Foto Forum / Anyone got pictures of Graeme Smythe on the works Kawasaki
« on: January 10, 2013, 11:18:10 AM »
Anyone got any pictures they could post of Graeme Smythe when he rode for Kawasaki? I saw the small promo pic in VMX but would like to see some race shots. Photos of the 1976 Mr Motocross series in general would be cool too. My dad had an issue of Revs or AMCN from the period that had a story on the works Kawasakis he rode that year, unfortunately long gone.

eBay Finds / Re: New KX420 - sweet as !
« on: November 22, 2012, 11:20:43 AM »
This bike looks the same as a NOS KX420 that was on UK ebay in 2004, right down to the different colour plastics. It may be the same bike 'cause it sold in the original auction. I saved the pictures from the 2004 listing because I was thinking about buying it at the time. It was a lot cheaper then the current asking price. About KX plastics being different shades, I've got several NOS frontplates and they held their original colour. Airbox covers for some reason do discolour but usually only because of airfilter oil. The left hand numberplate is the part that always seems to be a slightly different green. I've picked up 3 NOS ones of those and all have been a different shade to the other plastics.
