Are these all the same pump across the range of TC / TS / TM / TF / 100 / 125 / 185 / 250 / 400.......
The one i have is a MIKUNI with 2 feed tubes to the cylinder and l/h main bearing and is seized to the point where the worm drive on the input shaft is stripped!! >:(
I need a good one, (amont a growing list of bits needed ;D), there are a few available over here in NZ but off different bikes, so I need to know if they are all the same or not...
Im keeping the CCI system intact as Suzuki intended and am NOT interested in going the premix way...

any TS,TC,TM, RV 125 oil pump from the pre 76 range will do as they are all the same...

Thanks CG, I will go see my not so friendly wrecker tomorrow.... fleabay is not so good for us kiwis as the exchange rate plus shipping stuffs it really :(
-
Well I went and saw my wrecker....
All he has is a few very similar pumps with push-in brass fittings instead of the small banjo type I have :(
As well as this, they all seem to have only one feed line comming off the pump, the right side outlet seems not to be used...???? :o
Can I either tap these two fittings to accept my banjos (if the right side one even works.....) or simply use the drive and small other parts and fit these to my existing stuffed one ( basically use my pump body with the replacement pump internals???)
Dont even bother suggesting premix.... Im not interested..... :D
Such a common part but what a pain in the arse!
-
i think its best to use the right pump for the right bike and no modify something to suit. these pumps are calibrated to feed a specific amount of oil at a time and i certainly would not go messing with them. The life and performance of the motor depends on the correct oil pump in good working order. Im sure theres some on ebay. Dont US sellers ship to NZ?
-
Yes they do ship to NZ but the cheapest price I had for shipping was $31.00 US !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for a lousy pump!!!!!
I tend to agree, the right part for the right bike.......there must be some around somewhere.
From a curiosity point of view, I might grab one of the ones from the wrecker and see what bits actually interchange.
Its only 2 parts that need to be replaced....
-
if the pump fits on,why not just set it up to provide more sooner??,(advance the cable??) put a T piece in the single output line, main bearing wouldn't require that much would it??,justa thought ;)
-
I have a rooted RV125 bottom end and it has all the oil pump stuff still attached, I'll look into pulling it out to see if it's any good. If it is serviceable you can have it for free + postage.
-
here is a list of NZ wreckers. Ive used 'buckets and bits' wreckers before
http://www.motorcyclewrecker.co.nz/
also suss out who selling what on www.trademe.co.nz
-
Thanks guys....
The single feed to the engine cannot be split to feed both points as it wont provide enough oil at full throttle and I DONT want it seizing at 10,000 rpm !!!!
CG, you are an absolute gem! I am going to the wreckers tomorrow afternoon after work and will get a pump to see if I can make 1 out of 2...... I will let you know if I need the pump mate, thanks very much.
Trade me has one at the moment but it is the wrong type as are all the others i have come across so far....
Fun and games with VMX and old bikes, its half the attraction..... ;D

Here's what I dragged out of the RV bottom end, you can have the oil lines too if needed.....

I'll PM you my details etc....
WAA HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
No probs, I'll stop by the Post office and pick up a padded bag tomorrow and sort out how much it will cost to airmail to NZ.
-
Your truly a good bastard!

-
Thanks mate, I'll let you know. Would be good to know of the differences between th RV125 and others if any.....????? Flow rate possibly??
They are all the same unit for TS/TM/TC/RV 125/185
-
then why different part numbers?
-
My question exactly!
Any ideas anyone?
Possibly the JDM 1972 Suzuki TS125T like my bike used the pump and other associated parts from the RV125....
Is the difference between these 2 pumps to do with one having banjo bolt fittings for the oil lines and the other has the push in brass fittings....
What do you guys have in your bikes?
Interested to figure this out....
Andy
-
Whatever the reason suzuki changed part numbers one things for certain, all the other associated parts are the same as are the cases so it's a good bet it will fit and work. I can't imagine an RV needing more or less oil during use than a TS or a TC ???
-
As long as it pumps enough oil, I dont care! ;)
Sort me the postage costs CG, I'm gonna run with it....
-
maybe the different part numbers are to do with different mounting bolt spacings?
2 pumps are listed for 72 TS125J
Part # = 16100-28830
Part Description = PUMP ASSEMBLY,OIL
Model Count = 9
TC125J 1972
TC125K 1973
TC125L 1974
TC125M 1975
TS125J 1972
TS125K 1973
TS125L 1974
TS125M 1975
TS125R 1971
-
Possibly............ has anyone got access to the 2 different pumps and have a measure up?
-
Arrived in the mail yesterday CG, on my birthday too ;D, how did you know?? ;)
Funds in the mail to you know.
Kia ora bro!
-
If there is anything else you need, that may be salvagable, from the RV lump your welcome to it for free too.
-
Is the clutch outer basket the same and is it good? mine is terribly worn.... and the clutch plate cover ( has the 7 holes in it for the clutch springs to go through...)
The gear selector shaft? as some idiot welded my selector to the shaft..... >:(
The left side crankcase covers ( the one that surrounds the rotor and covers the front sprocket etc.. and the round rotor cover) mine smashed due to a chain breaking at some stage...
Ummmmmm Thats all I can think of at the moment....
If all these bits are the same and i good nick I'll grab them CG.
PM me if you want, I'll be at work all night till 5am your time......
Thanks dude.
-
Just had a look now, gearshaft is stuffed water got into the clutch cover and it's pretty well stuffed in there too, I had no mag cover with that engine anyway. An alternative may be a RM125M/S primary, they fit the same but use straight cut gears instead of helical ones. I have a RM bottom end that I need to dismantle for gearbox parts if the clutch is good your welcome to it too.
-
Thats a shame mate.... I DEFINATELY keen on the RM clutch and primary drive gear!!!
Let me know in due course CG.

the selector shafts can be found on ebay all the time and are dirt cheap..usually spot them around the $10US mark or maybe a little more locally. Any used shaft will exhibit some sort of wear unless the owner was switched on ;)
