Came across this interesting Suzuki at a recent U.S. Vintage race.

Now that's what I call a clutch :o ;D.
Looks pretty 'worksie' as well. What's the story Red?
(N81-10 doesn't look exactly production either :P).
-
I know the old owner. Its a works engine in a production frame with the pipe rerouted,1984 side panels and a works swingarm and brake torque arm plus works forks. The bike is ex Holland and was brought by a US collector who sold it on to the curent owner last year.Hey red any shots of the other side of the bike?
I know someone who is building something similar....
-
hmm thats interesting, I have got the exhaust worked out with Chris, we are still discussin the side covers. but it is getting there.
-
I reckon theh 1984 sidecovers are the best and as you can see it can be done and even raced with them on!
-
would that be a WP knobby fork kit?
-
Dont think so mate check out the triple clamps
-
actually im pretty sure i am right. i am looking at a WP knobby fork kit in a article and the cap with 2 flats and the damper knob in the center with the air valve looks exactly like the ones on this suzuki. Im not saying the triple clamps are WP, just the top caps/fork internals. Also since its from Holland strongly suggests WP fork inners. Same reasoning as the Twin Air air box and Tecnosel seat.

very nice and interesting suzuki....ive noticed there are some numbers and letters on the side of
the rubber inlet manifold....sometimes that tells you who the factory motors belong too... :)
-
the RM500 in the background looks worksy..wouldnt mind some close ups of her too...
-
nice bike a mixture of works production
and bolt ons 8)
very cool good to see them out
and about not hoarded up ;D ;)
lots of aluminium screws
pipe re routed to right hand side
same as mine
i like it :P
-
I would like to see some shots of that KX in the backround. that might look good too
-
The pipe doesn't look rerun to me the plug is angled to the left, there are trimmed fins on the right of the head and chamfered fins on the right of the cylinder.Looks like the TM carb got left behind in the move???.The clutch cover looks to be just fabricated out of a few odd castings ................
-
Trust me the pipe was rerun but remember its a works engine in a production frame so its likely the original engine did have the pipe from the RH side..
Hey Rusty any chance you could email me some shots of your RM 500 in the 125 frame please, especially shots of the engine mounting. I have a cunning plan, my email is [email protected]
Cheers mate

I saved a picture of a similar looking bike , built by a guy in the UK , although obviously without the works motor . The Poms build some interesting bikes . It is an RM500 motor in an '84 RM250 frame . Holeshot's hybrid RM is a nice looking bike as well 8).

does anyone know were i could get one of those twin air box setups ive got a moded pe 250 with xr suspension the shockie runs were the air box was all i got is a uni filter on it theres not much room any advice would be much apreciated
-
nice bike
i dont think a twin air will fit that bike
plus they are impossible to find
might have to make a aluminium one ;D
-
not sure. ive been looking for one for a few years with out sucess. Maybe someone can make fibreglass replicas?
somewhere ive seen right angled airbox boots. I think it may of been 4robs rubber who made them? but you could use one of those and then custom make an alloy or fibreglass air box out to the side.
-
thanks for the tips guys, i think if i can get one of those right angle air intakes i can make the rest i didnt think a twin air one would fit strait in but it would be close.
