Title: Beware VMX Racing (www.vmxracing.com)
Post by: Mick22 on October 27, 2008, 09:54:57 am
Just wanted to let you guys of of recent trading experience I had with VMX racing. I was going to let it slide, infact I was going to even try dealing with them again until yesterday I spoke with a couple of other guys that have had similar bad experiences.

It went like this, I rand the guy and told him I needed some parts in a hurry ( within 3 weeks not unreasonable from the US) and could he send them out asap... he tells me no problem and goes into a long winded sales pitch on how great his plastics are and how much better than DC they are, so I order a rear guard for my CR250M as well. I pay that day and wait.

2 months later a package arrives, wrong plastics and parts missing. I try email, phone calls and no response. Eventually I catch him on his phone and tell him of the mix up... I have worked in retail before and fully understand these things can happen. The guy is indifferent to my problem and in the end I have to suggest I return the parts and he send me the correct parts, no apology, he couldn't give a shit.

I wait another month and some parts turn up, the rear guard is so bad in quality I wouldn't put it on chinese mini bike >:( and still parts missing from my order. After another episode of no responses to emails etc I get him on the phone again and tell him enough is enough and I want my money returned for the parts he hasn't supplied and the return postage for his stuff up.
He argues about how much he will refund and doesn't want to hear about the rear guard, not even any interest in why I am not happy with it.

So I am still out of pocket and the guard is in the bin.

We all recomend traders based on the good experiences, but it is when things go wrong and you see how they deal with the issue you truly find out who the genuine traders are.

That last line is the key, I reckon Mick. "how they deal with it"
We all stuff up from time to time and I don't care as long as they admit it and do what they can to help fix it.
e.g. a guy from Thailand I just bought a seat from, he sent just the cover instead. Answered my email promptly and admitted the mistake. Because of his honesty, I paid for the cover as well even though he didn't expect it.
Sorry to hear that doesn't seem to have happened in your case...........  :-\

I can't help but wonder if some outfits here in the US may be indifferent to orders in OZ. How stupid, since you blokes actually still have some $ to spend. Is it no secret how many bikes and parts are selling and shipping to Oz.

My take is this: ..either he is uninformed, misinformed or to parapahrase Clint Eastwood's "Harry Callahan"-...one dumb son of a bitch...

Thanks for the tip, as I will not waste my time using this supplier-yet he needs to know that the world can be a small place.

I'm off the subject a bit but I brought an oil feed kit for my XT500 from the UK a few months ago, on ebay.  The service was prompt but the kit was nothing like the photo.  However the kit was still ok but I was annoyed that in the first instance, the unit was different and in the second case the answer from the supplier to send it back and I'll get a refund.

The annoying issue is that we pay a lot of money to get the items to Australia and the suppliers know its normally not worth the effort as we lose two lots of freight cost which is normally worth more than the part.

Administrators, are we able to set up a tab that recommends good dealers and the not so good, without getting a law suite thrown at us?

About 6 weeks ago I got an Ohlins shock and some plastics for a CR480 from VMX-racing. It involved a few emails to sort out the right spring for the shock and overall I got great service and a faster than expected delivery. Prices were good, have also bought a 125M swingarm, 250R brake arm and various plastics without any problems at all.

I contacted vmx racing and they told me they would not ship to Australia as they have agents here.
I had to buy through one of there agents at a price of over  double to what they sell for in the states
Now i see people have got stuff from him not to happy!!!

Hi All,

I've ordered from them and within a day received my tracking number from Peter

If you really need nice plastics and parts, speak to Dave from AMS Racing www.amsracing.com

just a quiet word on AMS racing. make sure they have your part in stock or commit to a reasonable delivery period before they take your readies. I recently had a four month wait on a part that nearly ended in tears.

Check your spam folder with your service provider, G-mail etc.

The systems often think e-mails from companies are spam.

I occasionally get e-mails that I can’t reply to as they keep getting bounced back.

I sure wish I had read this Thread, before purchasing plastics from this VMX racing mob.

I paid for YZ250 sidecovers and a rear guard + shipping.
The other day I recieve the sidecovers but no rear guard!!
Then he sends me another invoice to ship the rear guard?

In an email, I asked him nicely " Was there any reason why it was not shipped as a combined package?"
And there is no reply yet (4 days).

So I guess I either lose my $55 for the part, or I pay for a double whammy of shipping.
And then hope like hell he sends it. :-\

I might of caught him on a bad day John.
However, I cant complain about the quality of the plastic. Looks good.
