Realise its not everyone's cuppa tea but I reckon that would change a bit after you had a fang on one. This model is about $2500 and there is a cheaper model that does 60kmh and one with a mx seat and no pedals

I've never ridden an eBike but looks like could be a bit of fun , a quick search indicates that they are a quite a bit more than $2500 though.

What do the pedals do anyway? Drive a generator?

Nar the pedals are there when the batteries go flat or there's not enough in the tank for the big long hills

Doesn't look like a lot of pedalling for the speed he is doing though.

I've been told the pedals are for if you spot police while riding (illegally) on the road you pedal and hope they think you're on a bicycle (and don't notice how fast you're going)????

The dedicated electric Zero Motorcycles are still way expensive,,,,
Some of these higher wattage elec pushies are really starting to crank up,,
I am surprised that no one has made an ADR compliant one yet,,,,, just for short trips around town,,,
I know the govt would instantly put their hand out for registration expenses, but hey that would have to come in at under $200 all up in NSW,,,,given the low cost of registering a postie or an ER185,,,,,ooh there you go,,,may as well just buy one of them ::) Doh,,,
And the other thing is I love riding and pedaling my pushy,,,,, Used it today to retrieve the ute after quite a few at a party last night,,,, half the fun,,,, stopped of at Iso park on the way and pumped the exercise equipment for 5 minutes,,,, by the time I got there I had pushed the poison out and was pumped up and cranking all day afterwards,,,,,,,
This is a strong 29er with enlarged brake rotors etc,, stopping is off its head
Fly up and down gutters all day long without punctures or buckled wheels
Freakin love it,,, self healing tubes with puncture protectors,,,,

I understood that you can still be done for exceeding 0.05 on a deadly, at least down here in Mexico you can. Even on a bike path or footpath.

biggest "buster" of muddaboik riders is the off road pushy...the front lets go, the right wrist cranks ...and splat :o ??? no save on a pushy..so many collar bones and wrists on ex muddabike guys over the last 5 years...

Yes, I am realising that push bikes are super dangerous,,,,, That one above is very high. Great for standing on the pedals to see ahead and plan a flowing route, but a hell of a long way to fall as I learnt on 21/01/17,, a massive hit on the head and not that far from a death event. I was super lucky yesterday too that the tyre hooked back up. I was riding on top of the 6" wide kerb when the front wheel dropped of the side of it where the grassy Knoll had eroded away. When the tyre hooked back up it climbed back over the kerb and onto the road the rear end flicked out and basically performed a near 360 whilst still mounted, sort of. I thought it was going to be bigger than Texas and become totally fuked again for a fleeting moment.
I genuinely feel a lot safer on Motorcycle than I do a pushy,, particularly with all the gear on,,
for that matter I feel a lot less prone to accidents on a motorcycle than I do in a car,,to many relaxations and distractions in a car,,, When I get on a Motorbike,, I know that someone has written "Kill Me" on my back,,
The only fear in the back of my mind on a road motorcycle is that of oil and diesel patches and unattentive dip shits rear ending ya.
I do a lot on that pushy,,,obviously for fitness,, No protection except for helmet, gloves, shoes, shorts and tee shirt,,,, Yes I am staring to feel pretty vulnerable on it,,, Especially exposed elbows, Knees, wrists and collarbones,,,
Went out with an ED nurse for seven years,,, She said A lot of broken wrists on simple Skateboard offs,,, sometimes two at a time and mummy has to become the arse wiper again.
Mountain bikes have higher crankset center brackets too than roadies for added ground clearance off course.
And that bike is heaps higher riding position than a skateboard. I think a really strong "girls" style frame(No top bar) would be a heaps safer option in an off,,,that's the trouble, you're stuck with the bike because you cannot escape the top bar when it goes pear shape,,,,,

the other aspect with a pushy is the "zero speed" falls..you fall straight onto the ground with little horizontal speed component. like the car park bingle on the motorbike where you tangle yourself up farting around in 1st gear waiting for everyone else to get ready and splat! off to casualty with a wrist or collarbone not exactly right

bugger thats put a damper on it, being able to do 60k's for 60km would probably cost a $1 to recharge. Need one with a fairing clip ons and really stick tyres too. Single trails in the bush would be fun.
A fellow went DUI while riding horse too.

I have seen a bloke nailed by the coppers and gone for DUI crossing a road in a wheelchair some years ago. Those ebikes look like WAAAY too much fun, all the nanna state government departments and busybody self-interest groups will be queueing up to legislate against them.

I have a mate who was way too pissed to walk and wanted to get to another mates place, so he pinched his mum's mobility scooter.
Reckoned it was great and people stopped for him and felt sorry for him, let him cross and pass them etc.
he had only ran out of beer but couldn't stand up.
