Hoping for a bit of luck, just picked up this TSS roller, it's all Bultaco. Would like to find a 360 or 250 Pursang, Bandito etc motor to drop in it.
This is what I got
(https://s13.postimg.org/jfpvr78g7/image.jpg)
And this is how I'd like it to end up looking

If anyone has something that might work and they would be interested in selling please message me, thanks for looking, Terry.
Ps, already thrown the front mudguard before anyone comments

Hi,
If it is a frame number 29xxx it is a very rare bike with less than fifty made if my memory is correct.
The correct engine is a 350 TSS which is based on the Bandito / Montadero engine(centre port 360 engine)
Australia got very few of these bikes,so this bike has a high value.Good find.
-
Thanks Moto, Bandito motor would be pretty scarce as well, but will keep my fingers crossed
-
I'm pretty sure I saw one of these at macklyn motorcycles in Miranda back in the early 80s, I thought it was cool then & still do, great looking bike you've got there good luck with it. Jimson
-
Contact Bultaco parts Australia,I am sure that Peter could source you an engine eventually.
-
Thanks Jimson & Moto
-
there is an early 250 motor on ebay but i am sure you know that
-
Thanks Jim, seen it, had a hard life by the looks of it. :(
-
That is my engine on ebay,It is not what you want for that frame.
-
What an awesome find Tezza.
Moto's comments about the the Bandito motors brings back some memories.
I may have been about 10/11 when I had a double on the back of a Bandito, on the old straight line dump road.
Although I had just experienced the surge of a rotary valve Kawa Bushwacker,,, nothing could prepare me for the
brute acceleration of the big Bandito engine 8) Hooked on two strokes for life, I put a bandito brochure on the wall and
Stared at it for years.
I finally rocked up at Stormy Normie's with cash to buy one. Too late, too much time had passed.
So I caught the bus to Islington motorcycles and bought a new Maico of a guy called Terry S, instead.
So many memories 8) ;D
Cool find, good on you.
-
Thanks Mick and Moto :)
-
Still hoping there's a Pursang, Bandito, Montadero etc motor out there somewhere, meanwhile rubbing it hard hoping a genie appears :)

Hi Tez,
What do you plan on doing with the bike? There is a lot if work to do without the engine if you are doing a resto. An engine will turn up eventually.Keep looking.

Moto,
Restore it, already picked up the correct fairing and inner guard (thanks Mick), got the paint, going to spray tank, seat, fairing etc while on hols in two weeks. When I get onto a motor I can weld in the mounts to suit then blast and powdercoat the frame, polish the alloy, new brakes, fork seals and tyres, do the shocks and then hopefully take it for a run, oh and also a smiths tacho would be good :). Sounds easy haha
Also forgot pipe and controls, be nice whenever it's finished I'm hoping
-
so which way did the inner rear go?,taper up,or down Tezza :P
-
Skinny at the top, fat at the bottom, just like you said ????
-
Just found out it is a November 1967 model 41 water cooled 250 TSS. One for the bully brains trust. I have a set of mark 3 pursang cases, will mark 10 internals fit inside these cases??
-
No.
Mk10 have a different size output shaft(bigger)and just about everything else is different.
-
Thanks Moto, wanted the old numbers with new internals.
-
Where are you located?
-
Hi BP, Newcastle NSW, if you have anything that can help I'm happy to pay the freight etc.
-
Excellent, all the best on your quest
-
Just picked up a bottom end, radiator, temp gauge, coil, pipe and bits all new unused. Only need a watercooled 250 head and barrel and it's good to go. Getting a bit excited about this project now.

Well done, that is a very rare motor, especially if it has the gearbox. There have been TSS parts on eBay lately. There is a guy in the USA that has a big collection of TSS's,Donald McCullough is his name, try some forums for his email.I had his email but it is not current.
-
Moto,
Thanks, have been talking with Don, nice bloke, lots of info. Bottom end is complete and never used (NOS), same as the radiator. Was very lucky to get onto it, 20 minutes away from home. Watercooled head and barrel will be the last bits to find, then I can build it up. Hopefully another bully saved. ????
-
Good stuff,

PM sent

You could try Kevin Breedon in the UK. He has been racing TSS's for years and I bet he could help with the parts you need.

Thanks David, reply sent.
Thanks Murph, I will try Kevin and see if he can help, these watercooled parts seem to be a very rare item, only need a head and barrel to finish this bike.

gotta love the spaniards, external gearchange centralising spring, monobloc with later GP's 501 floatbowl, can just see an oldani front hub,(rivetted spoke flange),surprise no sump on the tank either, got the ignition system sitting there instead, thermo cooling system = long warm ups,Richard M in sth oz uses a kettle element to preheat before race, maybe get in contact with him Tezza?,one of the bully mafia,John Imrie should have contacts, :P
-
Mick,
Thanks for your support and appreciation of the finer points of the Spanish machines, Spain is pretty close to Italy..... :)
Been talking with John, going down for a visit after Easter to see him.
You will have to introduce me to Richard M.
Talking with Kevin Breedon in the UK (thanks Murph) he has directed me back to a contact in Spain. Wish I was getting frequent flyers for all the miles my emails are covering.

Guys FYI,
Had a guy contact me through an American VMX site in response to an add I put in for a head and barrel for the TSS. Knew it was a scam but I thought I would share it with you. Asked him for photos and the engine number to make sure it was for the correct model. He tried hard.
