Lotto in the U.S. is $1.4 billion, so after I bought my ticket I started thinking about the many ways to spend it. When I finally got around to Old Bikes I wondered what 5 bikes would I buy first, if I could buy any of them I wanted. Here is my Dream Five:
1. Roger DeCoster's 1976 RN370 (400?)
2. David Bailey's 1985 RC500
3. Johnny Omara's 1979 Mugen ME125 (air-cooled)
4. Brad Lackey's 1982 RN500
5. Darrell Schultz's 1982 RC480 (500?)
All factory bikes, go figure. :-) The only privateer bikes I would have considered are Rex Staten's 1975 USGP hole-shotting CZ400 and Marty Moates' 1980 USGP winning LOP YZ465. I have not won yet and I am already an MX bike snob. LOL
-
Sorry but $1.4 Billion is fukcin ridiculous.... >:(
-
with 1.4 billion forget old MX bikes ;-)
1.Jaguar D type Lemans winner.
2.Lightweight E type Jaguar(genuine 60s version)
3.James Bonds Aston Martin DB5
4 Ferrari 250 GTO
5 Peter Brocks all conquering 79 A9X Torana Hatchback
That's about a 100 million$ accounted for lol

It's disgusting, but that's why they call it Filthy Rich. It's 299 million to 1 odds, so I will probably still make it to heaven. :-)

Richo,
I am with you on great cars, but I said when I get around to Old Bikes. LOL
Here is the order:
1. Vacation houses around the world
2. Super Models of each hair color
3. Charitable trust funds (Still got to try to get into heaven.)
3. Partnerships in professional sports teams
4. Historically relevant Sports/Racing cars
5. Old Bikes
-
Hmmmm ......
Old mx bikes~ I think you nailed it for me :-)
Cars~
Ford XC coupe
New Camaro
New Challenger (coz I can't decide between this and above)
Some kinda 4X4
Elcamino
First 5 spends~
Buy / build mx park in Victoria.
Buy second house in California.
Build huge warehouse; fill with every model bike I can find.
Buy ex MotoGP bike.
Fly to next round of AMA Supercross, arrive in a Limo with my California Tahition_Red sponsor :-)
-
I read that you're 25 times more likely to become the President of The United States than winning that Lotto. Introducing Mr President, Tahitian Red.
-
John Banks CCM or Lester Rowley's whoever comes first
MR Motocross Gunter/Cutts RM/RN
Trevor Williams KX
Any 500 2stroke Honda
Toby Price over for lamb roast :)
-
"You have as much chance of winning PowerBall as you have of being struck by lightning while being eaten by a shark". Jon Oliver.
But with $1.4B, surely you'd just go to Terry Goode's place and say "here's the cheque, pack your clothes"?
Personally:
Hallman's 1972 YZ250.
Hannah's OW27.
Any YZM500.
Leisk's 89 RC500.
Puzar's 92 YZM250.
-
The Batmobile (original 60's model)
James Bonds DB5
Brand new H2 750 triple
LeMans winning GT 40
Moffat Bathurst winning Falcon, maybe all 4 ;D plus his Mustang.
-
You are all thinking too small.
1. Buy a golf course and turn it into a Vintage MX resort. If that is great buy more.
2. Buy the Mercedes F1 team and sack Hamilton
3. Buy Dave Coupe's VMX collection.
4. Buy a B double semi to transport my bikes to race meetings
5. Get the rights to the Maico name Worldwide and investigate relaunching similar Husky.
Why think small.
-
"buy a golf course and convert it to MX track" Hell yeah, my all time favourite dream.... Hmmm augusta or that one in Scotland????
-
Just buy Greece. You'd probably get change.
-
Just buy Greece. You'd probably get change. Yep with the $1.3999999 billion and 50cents change I would buy the "Rich River Flog/Golf course thingo just up the road and open it up for like minded VMXers . Nice big bars and restaurants right in the middle to watch the fun to.
Cannot think of any particular whole bikes I would buy as, well I used to enjoy building my own shitty specials the most.
Cars? Just a new Australian Ford Falcon 1 tonne cab chassis tray for work and a new Holden V8 ute for play as the real Australian built cars are about to sadly die out. :'(
and build a world class speedway track to revitalise sidecar and solo speedway, modern and classics ;)
-
I could always buy the two Islands to the south of Australia. No one lives there they're all in Australia.
-

Buy a big warehouse fill it with toys and a blonde with big tits who can clean air filters etc.
i would just go and see Hef and buy the Playboy Mansion complete with all stock !
Get the stones, surviving members of Led Zep, floyd to do a gig with headliner Springsteen at the mansion.
then travel in my Learjet with bikes to all the cool VMX meetings with my big titted blonde to do the air filters.
-
Hoony Been told air filters and lots of silicone don't mix.... ::)
-
And i'd buy a 76 rm250 just so i could measure the freaking tank stickers for myself!
-
Paulos - are they the same as a 77 RM370 - can measure if that will save you wasting some of that hard earned billions ;D
-
Should be near enough rossco, i'd like to give the local bike shop some of my extraordinary wealth but it's all too hard. They want vin numbers for a bike i don't have. I'm painting a tank for a mate and he's overseas etc... should be easier than this to buy a couple of stickers?
-
...a blonde with big tits who can clean airfilters.
You mean Turtle? Nah. Cleaning air filters isn't that bad.
i would just go and see Hef and buy the Playboy Mansion complete with all stock !
Apparently the Playboy Mansion is for sale - on the condition that Hef lives there until he carks it.
But I think it's not a place you'd want to go with a black light... *shudders*

At the moment it looks like there was only one winner. I told my missus if we win it we will go over to the US for a bit of a holiday and buy up big. She tells me she don't like flying so I say don't worry luv if we win we will build a bridge.
Zane
-
a bridge... love it! pity Clive is broke, he would go halves....
