Title: Yamaha IT 175 J crank
Post by: Zarro21 on January 04, 2016, 02:04:27 pm
Hi just replaced the main bearings on my IT 175. But the crank is bent it is running out 1 to 2mm on the flywheel side. So i am chasing a straight crank or a complete bottom end cheers John. ps can i get the crank straightened or rebuilt? or is it stuffed once its bent.

Probably just the thread on the end bent when a puller was used to get the flywheel off. It can be straightened but a small amount of runout in the thread is not a problem. Crank can be easily re-built as well. If the mains needed changing the bigend will be quite tired as well.

Thanks for the advice Sleepy. Will look into getting crank rebuilt.  Thanks for nothing Stewie, hope to see you in 2016.
