On Saturday Sept 20th 2014 is the inaugural 2014 Pre 2000 Show & Go event at Clarkefield - Victoria, held in conjunction with the annual Viper (combined with VCM & CSC riders) motocross meeting.
Entry to this event is free for spectators.
On the Saturday there will be a FREE display area (3x3m or 3x6m), for owners of any dirtbike Pre 2000, to set-up their pit-tents to show their race or display bikes.
There will be practise sessions on Vipers motocross track for motocross & enduro machines on the Saturday, with entries accepted for races on the Sunday. The classes/categories for practise & racing on the motocross track will be determined on the weekend pending numbers attending.
On the Saturday there is a pony-express course open to any Pre 2000 motocross, enduro or trail bikes, an MA 'recreational' or 'race' licence is required, club membership & one-day 'rec' licence can be completed on the morning.
Camping can be made available for interstate travelers.
You can email me at [email protected] for more info, plus I can send you a basic flyer that you can hopefully print-off and distribute to your nearest bike shops.

Myself, Johnny O, Shane and a couple of top lads in 4wd's traipsed the paddocks of Clarkefield til dark yesterday afternoon to set out a small enduro loop. I think we've done a reasonable job considering the space we've got to work in, a lot of it is across VERY ROCKY, scotch thistle infested paddock, some cool up n downs and a hill climb or two. There was opportunity to make a an awesome (semi) extreme enduro loop on this property but giving consideration to some of the older machinery that might ride it just wasn't fair to do so, we set the course out that we believed we could get around on a DT175 which should keep it manageable to everyone. I will stress this highly though……..it is ROCKY, very ROCKY!!! This will not be a piston slapping speed trial, to be honest i reckon a lot will not exceed 40km/h around the entire circuit, plenty of slow "dodge the boulders" areas to be very careful of..choose not to heed this warning and you'll likely end up on your arse more than once. That said, i think it will be great little test of ability, concentration, obstacle awareness and a great sideshow to everything else that will be happening over the weekend. Can't wait, see ya there :)
Cheers, Brendan
-
I was gunna bring the 510 but I will bring the postie biker instead....
-
Considering the time available and what you had to work with. I think you and Johnny Oh did a great job Brendan.
Thanks for that. Once we get a few people running over the loop, I think it will be better. Looking like it's going to be a ripper of a weekend. Cheers Shane.

Meh. A Victorian speaking about "lots of rocks", makes me think there might be one pebble every 500m...

Doing both.
I've made too much noise about pre-95 MX to miss the Pre-00 day.
I've also made too much noise about Pre-90 Vinduro to miss Cookardinia...
Hey Dr Who, share with us yr itiernary ;D
I would say camp Fri nite at Cooka, ride all day Sat then pack up around 4pm.
Hit Viper Clarkefield around 8pm ish Just in time for the Bonfire ( bring a few bevvies & a Chair ), Then Racing allday Sunday.
Man u are gunna be wrecked lol
You should receive a medal for yr committment to this sport.
Welldone Nathan ;)
-
Close, but reverse order.
Get to Clarkefield on Friday evening, ride Saturday, then up to Holbrook before the 8pm lockout, ride all day Sunday.
:)
My poor little car will have racked up nearly 4000km in a fortnight at the end of this, though... :-\
-
Well u do realise that Sat is only pratice @ Viper and u drive str8 past cooka to get there.
So my plan is better than yrs :P

OK, thats just the attitude that will see you be one of those people who end up on their arse ;D ;D. I cant stress it enough
IT'S VERY ROCKY!!!!!!
-
It will be a test of the talented &/or patient :-)
-
Only 5 more sleeps til the weekend.... I'm definitely not missing this one. The boss has been told rain hail or shine that I will not be doing any quick jobs! The mobile phone will be switched off ::)
I'm guessing the enduro loop will need tyres inflated to 20psi unless you want pinched tubes.
-
I can second that. It's got lots of rocks. Little ones, big ones and all the ones in-between.

Cheers Shane.

VERi members don't have to pay one day VIPER membership, make sure you bring your membership card. Thanks to VIPER from VERi for being so welcoming!
This should be a terrific event. Sadly for me " life has gotten in the way" and I won't be able to get there.
I'm looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing some pics.

This was great. I had a ball - I'll fill in more details later, but this was like a smaller, more casual Classic Dirt. Two thumbs up to everyone who made it happen, and the Viper crew generally.
Extra special thanks to Shane.

Cheers Nathan, Always good to meet like minded people. I'm glad you had a good time and hopefully next time you can hang around
for the Bonfire and Sundays racing.
It was a great weekend, made possible by many. A huge thank you to Johnny Oh, KDX Geoff, Brendan and the VIPER guys.
Also anyone that help make it possible and or helped on the day.
Hoping to make it bigger and better every year. Most of the feedback I received was positive.

Realy well done Shane!....the track was as ever superb ......the dust was realy not the best but more than tolerable.
I feel I do have to apologise for the spray i gave the track watering guys (think they needed a little supervision where they put the water) I'm sure they meant well.
Look forward to the next ASAP.

I'm not going to get into an argument about it here but I was very upset by the attitude from some about the watering, there was a huge firetruck spraying the most dusty corners, bloody hard not to expect a slippery corner when you got there!, the firefighters were dirtbike racers and had a good idea of what they were doing, I was also helping guide where they should water (although I wasn't with them when the above incident occurred).
It was hard to select exactly what sections of a corner to water when being hurried between races or while riders lapping the track. It's not as though the track was being watered on the up-ramp of a double jump just out of a corner! (which could be dangerous).
After the incident the VOLUNTEER firefighters had to be sweet-talked into staying and I nearly stopped helping for thinking that some loud-mouth would have a go at me if he didn't like what I was doing.
It was a piss-easy track, whether wet or dry, mature age riders have no excuse for not using their brain before opening their mouth. I'm not saying another word on the matter, you all know how I now feel.
-
What a shame to know that some had a spray at the local CFA for watering the track. I met one of the fireies at the bonfire on Saturday night and he seemed like a top bloke to me. Shite, he even stayed at the beginning of the bonfire to make sure it didn't get out of control. Yes, the fire was HUGE.
It's pretty easy to know that when the watering was done, there was going to be a bit of slippin and slidin' going on. To anybody that gave the CFA a mouthful, shut ya friggin mouth in future and take a look at your own lack of throttle control....
I had a top weekend and would like to thank all those involved in getting the meeting together, especially landowner Shane. The meeting was well run, everything moved along nicely on Sunday, the natives were friendly and Saturday night was worth the price of admission alone. Many outrageous laughs were had til the wee small hours.
Thanks for a great weekend guys
-
Any photos from Saturday? There was at least a couple of photographers out there.

Just like a Pom to whinge..... How dare you spray our volunteers.....Next time there is dust and you can't see where you are going, don't start whinging about why there is no water truck.....
-
Everyone has said the wrong thing in the heat of the moment. Not everyone has the balls to apologise for doing so.
Seems a bit average using his apology to stick it to him...
-
If it was a genuine apology, it wouldn't have been aired on here and rather given to the guys on the day......besides, it shouldn't have happened in the first place. NO ONE IS RACING FOR SHEEP STATIONS> I stand by my statement.
-

Rob made an apology to myself on the day and I accepted it. I also believe it was genuine and heartfelt.
I'm sure given his time over he would wish
it had never happened. I'm also pretty sure when given the chance he will also offer one to the guy involved in the
spray. I for one can say. I have opened my mouth before putting my brain into gear more then once.
I'm in no way saying what happened is acceptable and it never should have happened.
But he was man enough to make the effort to apologise to me and I accept his apology.
Shane..

Just been out in the paddock having a bit of a look at the track and grass and thinking about what to do next.
I'd like to say a very big thank you to everyone, as there is no rubbish left behind.
and with that many people here over the weekend. I think that's a great effort. I did see a small amount on the day
but someone has obviously pick it up when they've seen it.
So to people that cleaned up. It hasn't gone unnoticed and is very much appreciated.
Cheers Shane..
