I have found one of these that needs some tlc.
Are these things any good?
-
Is good. Where did you find it ?
-
In a little old ladies shed ;)

F11's were, for the majority, overlooked back in the day. Quite possibly the pick of all the Japanese 250cc trailies pre 1975. Have taken part in some really good rides on mine ;)

They are a very solid motor. It's not called Kawaski heavy industries for nothing.
-
they could have questionable gbox issues...at times in particular ..early kx's
-
yep, the 450 has a crap gearbox but Doc is right the F11 is a really good thing.
No issues with the gear boxes on the other early KXs just sticky clutch plates that can be a pain in the butt.
these should be listed as a follow on for pre 75

They where also raced back in 1973, I have photo`s and film to prove that.
There is the first F11 Scrambler

Ole Peterson rode that Dave. Looks very much like an RH Suzuki. I believe the first version had a red tank. J

Agree!! F11 in MX trim is a quick bike
there is a reason why I have an RH250 and a shed full of tin tank KXs. Was always his biggest fan and agree that if you look at the KXs after 74 there is a certain connection that can be made - even the rear end of the 75 6 250/400 looks like the 74 1/2 RH/RN rear end. He was the great development rider of that generation.
I even have a klx400r which still gives me a chuckle.
