Apoligies to those that have heard it before...
Does anybody know if there is someone who makes a pipe and muffler to fit a YZ250B?
There was a thread on here before about a chap in the US who was going to make some, and wanted numbers of people interested?
I sent a message and he was developing them and would get back to me. Ive lost the e-mail now and havent had a reply for a while.
Do any of the other Yamahas come close to fitting?
Anybody just make the header pipe section?
Thnx. 8)

Hi Tony the MX 250B are very close but not exact,I know that US guy but I have also lost the contact details......cheers Richard.

Is it Doug Childress?

Did you mean the OW12 replicas?

If you only need the header peace then I can make one, it's a replica of the original, let me know...it has a machined flange just like the original....ALL the aftermarket pipes are dodgy where it mounts the stub on the cylinder .

Scott Sears is the man you are referring to - was still having the pipes done up etc -250 being different to the 360 - but still awaiting latest info. Have to agree with Davy - the header pipe he can have made is fantastic and gorgeous to boot (I got one ;D). Jemco I think it is were also makiing an aftermarket pipe for the 360 which followed hte works bike route down the right hand side - but difficult to buy and ship with as they insisted the pipe had to be cut.

Hi Davey... I would be keen to get the header pipe off you.
If you let me know $, when and how.
Thanks for the offer. Regards.

I can build anything if I have a bike in front of me.
I have already jigged an alloy muffler to replace the stock YZB muffler

There you go, GMC has the rear, I have the front....the middle is usually OK on that model.....your in business.....LOL.

I have a couple of Jemco pipes on my dirt trackers and they are sent incomplete, needing to be welded together and brackets fitted, service was good and they arrived 4 weeks later.
They work well but the last order I placed was paid for mid feb and still has not shown up, so if you are thinking about getting one don't be in a hurry to receive it. >:(

yeah - I even have to say - as much as it pains me - the GMC muffler is nice to - and yes have one of them as well ;D

That is lovely , sometimes looking at the work done by members on here I feel like a bloody bush mechanic .

It is a work of art, I wish I could take credit, I had the flange machined on a CNC by my machainist, then my guru welder made a jig off an original header pipe supplied by Ross Campbell on here. The pipe is hydroformed out of flat sheet [same grade as they make aircraft exhausts out of] and made into a long S shape, it is then cut up into the right shape and tig welded together, then they made all the little brackets, if you saw the finished product you would want one just to put in your china cabinet. It fit's YZ250B and 360B, the header is always cracked and burn't out and almost impossible to buy NOS or a decent 2nd hand one. The rest of the exhausts on these are usually OK. I will be selling the flanges separate as every aftermarket exhaust made for these and the YZ250/360A models have a basic pipe that fits over the barrel spigot and they never seal, you can just shorten the pipe flange and weld it on, it seals on 2 O-rings just like the factory one. 8)...pm me if you want one....Aussie quality at it's best.
-
must admit I was amazed at how accurately mine had been copied - even to some of the slightly offset welds or similar. It bolted straight on, gaskets/o-rings fitted straight in - far exceeded anything I thought it could be. It also appears "thicker" than the standard one - mine were blowing out under the bottom and as Davey says you can't find them for love nor money.
As Iain says - really good to see another "hole" filled by Aussie work.
Davey - thanks for that.
I shall retire on the royalty cheques ;D

Cheques in the mail Ross. ;)
