Hopefully you've blown the cobwebs out of your bikes at the Bonanza, and are ready for the Tallarook Vinduro this Sunday (May 4).
It's open to both registered and unregistered pre 85 bikes.
For those who attended last year, the loop on private property has been extended, and will take roughly 25 minutes to traverse. It's a bit rocky, a bit hilly, not too difficult and plenty fun!
There'll also be a trail ride with lead and sweep riders, probably about 60 kms in length.
Entry forms have been sent out to the VERi mailing list, and they should be available on our website shortly. You can also PM me and request one. Entry on the day is fine.
The location is Kingston Road, Tallarook.
See you there!

A slackarse club official has now uploaded the entry form for Tallarook on our website.
As there are 2 of us adding to the site you will have to guess which one of us is the slacker!
http://www.verivinduro.com.au/13/2014-calendar-of-events/
It should be another good one, see you there.
PS We will also have tickets available for our raffle bike for sale on the day, if ever you wanted a KDX 250 for $20.00 then this is the raffle you need to be part of.

We had a spot of rain last weekend but the last few days have been nice, tracks should be good for Sunday.
Entry on the day is fine, a pre filled entry form will make life easier for us all, they can be found on the VERi website.
This should be another top event, the only table tops you will have to deal with at this event is the one where you pay your entry.
My apologies if you have to suffer the indignity of having to 'step up' to the table
See you all Sunday
-
Can 'Pre 85' motocross bikes ride your non-supercross track? ;-)
-
stick a headlight on it and make excuses for the no taillight and your away! (unless you have a TY taillight about...) they don't have to work!!!
-

And the only whoops will be whoops of JOY as we thrash around the trails of Tallarook
See you there!

Sure can, all pre 85 bikes welcome however they should have...
# Quiet muffler
# Head & tail light (not necessarily working, we cherish our image here at VERi)

Your quick with the quips Viperboy, you ever thought about writing stories in your spare time ;D

It's been brought to my attention that Kingston Rd doesn't appear on some internet maps. It is however marked on the map in the VicRoads/RACV Country Street Directory. Old school event, old school map, how about that!
Specifically it is Map 61, ref D4.
Basically, if you can find Landscape Rd which runs off Ennis Rd you should be fine as we'll put some signs out.

This was at the start of Kingston Rd. last year, expect something similar.
Kingston Rd. is a short dead end rd with the event at the end, you won't miss it

There is ample parking despite the pathetic attempts of some ;D

Ennis Rd is a non off ramp exit off the Hume just north of the Broadford exits

I found it ok last year so everyone else should romp it in!! I can get lost on a freeway!
-
These events are just like the old Enduro's, you just follow the tyre tracks.
You may still get lost but you will be lost with someone else :o
-
Lot of rain up around there looking at the BOM radar. J
-
I knew you where a softcock Geoff....fancy not having step ups, table tops or quads at a vinduro.....I suppose you blokes wont water the track either in case you get mud on your bikes.....do you have bridges for the water crossings? ;)
-
The track was watered yesterday actually, today it's trying to dry out again.
Bridges? we try not to mention them.
Drakie made a bridge at an early Harrow in order to cross a rising river, he had good intentions, or so he says.
He laid some planks down and tied them with fencing wire.
The water rose and covered the planks.
He can't tie fencing wire for quids.
All the planks moved but nobody knew because they were out of sight under the water.
Nobody really knew there were planks there anyway.
Like contestants in a Japanese game show all riders floundered.
No man made it out alive
We they ran out of contestants riders they diverted around the river crossing
We try not to mention it because it scares contestants riders away
He had good intentions, or so he says.

Had much rain yet as Sunbury got a good soaking and looks on the radar to be coming your way so plenty of duck tape around boots I think, and that little hill through rocks will be interesting, o well sort boys from men.
-
I think people will be going the easy/chicken way up that hill this time. I reckon it would be a car park before you get half way up. Good job im on a pe250
-
Put me down for the chicken line! J
-
Come on guys, your not scared of my camera are you ;D
-
Just greasy hills. J
-
By the way at least 2 Bultacos will available for push starting tomorrow. J
-
Drakies your mate for that isn't he?
-
He is my push starting bitch. I do believe he is so impressed he has aquired one himself. J
-

Yep, real impressed.....he's sold it already!
There was a chicken line? Nobody mentioned that last year.

Drakie, the new Dave! J
-
I think he tagged it Alsopism ;D
-
Hahahahhahahaha. J

Well the track was dampened today and it wasnt geoffs fault :o but it was a fantastic day little cold an misty rain but heh it better than dust .A VERI great day. cheers
-
Ditto that. Many thanks to all who organised. Track amazing considering the rain last few days. #1 Bultaco not started for approx 10 years prior to Thursday before the event. Ran superbly all day ridden by young gun 17 yo Tom Linnane. Roll on Hopeton. J
-

I'm 40 years older. Possibly explains lack of pace on my behalf. J

On behalf of the VERi committee, thanks to everyone who turned up for a ride yesterday. It was great to see new people, especially as the weather was a bit grim at times.
We had just over 50 riders, with about half of those taking part in the longer trail ride. The private property loop was just as fun as last year, with some extra bits included to keep it interesting.
Some of those wet, slippery logs across the track at various angles gave an unnamed rider on an XT250 no end of bother!
Thanks to the landowner Peter, who also led the trail ride, and those who assisted laying out the loop, and did sweep duties and catering etc. Thanks also to the first aid person, and my VERi committee colleagues.

I only saw smiles on the day, they were weary but they were smiling.
From what I saw of the loop it looked like perfect traction, I gave up walking it after the batteries went flat. Guys seemed to be coming back clean from the loop suggesting that despite the rain there were no mud puddles out there. Judging by the bikes that came back from the forest loop they successfully found some mud puddles ;D
Many thanks all the helpers, most of all to our host Peter who did most of the set up of the loop, also to Barbara who did a magnificent job with sign up as did Steve with the catering.
Many riders struggled to negotiate the table top, with Barbara at the helm there was no negotiating, everyone had to pay their entry fee.

The step up nearly bought a few undone, you had to land on the downramp correctly or you risked a face plant. Jerry bought along a 'minder' to help him with the difficult sections, I think his minder had to help him swing a leg over his bike as well
(http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a393/gmcloa/Tallarook%202014/Tallarook-2014-163_zps57490522.jpg) (http://s15.photobucket.com/user/gmcloa/media/Tallarook%202014/Tallarook-2014-163_zps57490522.jpg.html)
When are clubs going to look after the riders properly and get rid of these dangerous sections.
Some of these guys are to old to be doing things like these step ups.
No, I'm serious, my calves were as sore as hell that night from all the times I went in and out of that bloody Van
I would have been less fatigued if I had ridden :o
-
Aw come on Geoff you can still throw a Leg that high ..... ::) ::) ::)
