Oops I did the flyer and forgot to remove the words VMX practice from the front cover :o. Removed all the stuff from the info and forgot the cover :-[ :-[ ::)

This is a Vinduro only.

Had two people contact me and tell me it was confusing and I looked at it each time and obviously must be going blind :-\

Just to repeat this is a Vinduro only.

I have to appologies to VINDURO for supplying an incorrcet document

The closing date for this event is getting close. All the excitment of Harrow, Pre65s, the Classic / Post Classic DT events and so forth has allowed the Bulahdelah Vinduro to sneak up without everyone noticing.

Get your entry in for a great weekend of Vinduro riding

Yes it will be on the 10th & 11th of this month ..

It will not  have the Big hills to clime like Harrow  or the Rivers to cross and a loop will not be 56km long  like Harrow

But it will have a Bit of every think and a Loop will take about  25 + min

This will be a Good week end of Riding and Yes   2 (TWO ) Days of Riding as much as you like

Looking forward to it, any idea of numbers going, hope it is a good turn out. The old XL350, has a new go fast throttle cable, what a pain to put that on. All I need is go fast suspension, as it don't match the power of the bike( or the lack of rider ability) . Just got some footpeg wideners to weld on, waiting for a new footpeg to arrive from the states before welding them on. If it don't turn up in time I will be riding on the current shortened pencil pegs, with one dropping at a 30 % angle. Will make it interesting.
Is there a nice easy section? Was thinking about bringing the TS400, sorry to be soft, but don't really want to put it through too much shit, parts to hard to find.

We have had a bit of rain during the week but it says sunny and low 20's for Sat/Sun should be perfect low dust again.

My first Vinduro and I loved it I now understand why it's the fastest growing vintage category.
Heaven did a great job and big thanks to the guys who did the grunt work laying out the great track. Perfect weather , perfect event.

Yep what Slakewell said.

My first Vinduro too and despite riding a, geared for dirt track YZ490, I still had a fantastic weekend dodging trees. (NGK Spark Plugs are about to see a jump in profits though)  ;D ;D ;D

A huge thanks to all the hard workers that delivered a great loop. Holmesy reckons he did more laps on the whipper snipper than on his bike  ;D and also to the volunteers who gave up their time to mark cards etc at the end of the loop.

Still can't believe I got beaten in Saturday's poker run after I landed a 10,J,Q,K,A  :o

Cheers
Shaun

Me too.... :)

I only managed an appearance today due to domestic duties and the earning of frequent family points, but today was definitely worth the effort!

Thanks to Rob the Husky guru for making my riding today possible, I went seeking some technical assistance (my fuel tap decided to cease letting fuel through it) (what is it with me and fuel??) and came away with his spare fuel tap...legendary assistance!

Big thanks to Dennis and Crampo and all the other guys who camped out since early in the week and cut and marked the course through virgin old growth scrub, well scrub anyway! Nice and tight, lots of trees and lots of rocks, no dust, but some mud thrown to keep things interesting!
Big thanks to the Heaven team for another well run and managed event that pulled a field of over 70 riders, thanks to everyone for making the trip!

Bring on the next event! ;)
I've just got to have a little lie down now though, I thought my VMX racing would count for some bike fitness for this weekend?
Nooooooooo....!!! Ouch that hurts to type! ???

Big thanks from me to all the people who gave up their time to set it all up, officials on the day, camera man and the Heaven club for the use of their track and  anybody else that I did not mention. Except for the dodgy dealers of the cards for poker, don't think I got a pair of cards all weekend. You lot should find a career at Star City as dealers, nobody would ever win! "L" ok then thanks also to the card sharks.
My poor old Honda Xl 350 is going to wear its gold award with pride. I'll be back next year with better tyres I hope , so watch out you KTM, Husky, Maico riders!
Can't wait to see some pics and video if anyone got some footage. I'm also the proud owner of a very large bruise on the left arm after a meeting with  a stump on a tree trunk that had been sawn off to make safe on a nasty tight 180 degree bend at the end of the day. Did anyone else meet with it? If you don't come home with a few battle wounds, your not riding hard enough!
 Again thanks all.

Another fabulous event at the Heaven Bulahdelah Motor Drome on the week-end.

The team set a great vinduro sprint course for the riders . Looking at all the tired riders in the pit area on Sunday afternoon , i dont think there will be any complaints relating to lack of riding time.

The course was exciting with great varying terrain including a ripper bog crossing.

Thanks to the Heaven team for the venue , spending all week-end marking cards and keeping the event on track.

Great job and we look forward to the next instalment.

Great photo's!

Great shot of me on the Husky (Blue WR240) fording the mighty Crawford Bog that caught a few over the weekend.

Thanks for that, not often I get my mug in print (screen) showing my lack of talent.

I'm sure I brought home 10kgs of that Bulahdelah gold!

Husky XC feels great   ;D ;  good smooth power  for a 500  & easy to ride .
On the Saturday I took it nice & easy , to run in / get used to bike . ( rode my IT490 afterwards as well to compare)
  Sunday I was really feeling comfortably settled into the Husky  &  kept thinking to myself ;
" I should have got me one of these things long ago."
   Very impressed   8)
I might just buy another one .

Don't buy the auto unless you have all the time and money in the world... despite what Auto owners tell you, unless you can pay Paul Rooney to follow you around, they always seem to have some sort of internal stuff up....

Don't get me wrong, I love riding them, but café husky is littered with pics of broken springs, o'heated clutches and other auto related issues.

And it is the greatest shame as the concept is fantastic and once you've ridden one, the bug is there. they sharpen your riding style up no end as the freewheeling shows just how much time you spend doing absolutely nothing in a corner when you could be braking and or accelerating...

Operating rules are extensive... use only the most expensive oil in the universe and change it every 32.45 km etc etc ...don't soft throttle it, only wide open... (new tyre every ride :P) and don't get stuck on logs or bog holes or the clutches will cook :o..... That's me out :D ;D

Its a more secretive club than the masons is the auto owners club and they speak in their own language.

Id get a single shock 400 or 430 manual and enjoy riding..... save a fortune on phone calls to Paul R

Heretic: a professed believer who maintains religious opinions contrary to those accepted by his or her church or rejects doctrines prescribed by that church. The church of the Husqvarna faithful charges you with Heresy; the faithful will go easy on you if your plead guilty, though you must sell me your WR400 for penance.

Nah Haven't got to the pipe yet.

The Robz bike is a bitza - frame loop chopped rear and under engine, CR type rear brake stay and hub, side cover leaking into g/box (or it was when I spoke to him early on)...I'd like an original one that I can restore. It may be a team USA bike, but just not for me.

Not sure what the issue was wih Shoey's bike.

Hey Bud

Ole mates name is Rob

The 420 failed only because it siezed.

Prior to this , it had Completed 5 Rockley Rides ,1 canowindra ride , raced in VMX, completed two Harrows (one being probably the worst because of the deep unrelenting bogs) , more than 10 big trail adventures and been thrashed by more people than i care to remember at 4 classic dirt events .

Not bad for a machine that requires very little maintenance.

Once completely overhauled it will do the same again

You should buy one Bud , my twelve year old nephew could maintain it for you as they are that easy to work on. But he would charge you more than Paul.

Well it never stopped hurling rocks and sticks at me on that first loop at Harrow, ive never followed a bike that took such a dislike to my presence ;D.

it had plenty of go and that's a great testimony to the ability to sort them out.. just goes to prove, you only hear the bad side of them.

why on earth did it seize, it should have been so "run in" after that campaign, a seizure would have been the last thing on its mind. must have got an air leak?

a mate had a new 500 in 1984 -85 and it gave him nothing but trouble only finishing 2 out of 7 events. he wasn't what you would call switched on with them but I thought it was one of the best bikes id ever ridden.

I will let you know why it siezed after we dismantle the engine this weekend

All being well , with the new parts we have available in the workshop it will be up and running in the next week or two.

We are thinking of giving it a little spruce up whilst the engine is on the bench as it is a pretty original unrestored bike
