Seeing as I was lucky enough that nobody wanted to buy my '81 YZ125 (except Paul...... ;D ) I'm happy to start getting as good cosmetically as it is mechanically.
My aim is to get it looking decent and riding really well, not for a concourse resto.
First up: plastics. The DC kit looks ok and the price is certainly right. Anyone had any experience and are there any alternatives?
Next we're onto the wheels. Do any other model wheels fit? IT175 maybe? I just want good, straight wheels that aren't as rusty as the originals.
Finally, the rear shock has excellent damping and is adjustable but the spring rate is too light for my fat arse. Is there another reasonably inexpensive option? Maybe 250 or 465 spring?
Sorry for all the questions.......... again.......... any advice most gratefully accepted. ;)

Go the DC stuff.....I did on my H, I wasn't happy with the fit or finish so I got Maier full gloss the next time around. Cost way more and they are the biggest pieces of shit going. Even worse fit than DC and XYZ stuff.
Get DC and save some bucks

Tony, If the plastics aren't cracked or broken just paint the fukas. New aftermarket plastics will leave you disappointed

Thanks Ted,
The originals are completely stuffed from sitting in the Broken Hill sun. Except for the tank. That seems fine.
As I'mnot doing a cosmetic resto as such, sounds like DC might be ok for the job.
P.S. your posters went in the post today.

Thanks Rookie.
I dunno.... I would have thought that the IT spring would be lighter than YZ?
