Title: Glen Britza's CZ 250 TP for sale
Post by: Drakie on October 23, 2012, 02:47:18 pm
Just a heads up guys.
I'm selling the 'jewel in my crown' CZ TP for the princely sum of $15G ono.
OK, it's a lot, but the bike has a proven provinance, signed and authenticated by Glen and with original photos.
Totally rebuilt with mostly original parts bar the GMC chambers (but original header pipes), seat cover, guards, fork boots.  It starts and runs like a dream, even better than a mates. Owners manual, no spares.
It'll be on eblag soon, once I shoot it. Dunno how to put a photo up here, email for a preview shot.
Cheers,
D

It also featured in VMX Mag. No 12 back in 01 so he's had it for a while now.

As a matter of genuine interest and seeing as though you recognise that "everybody knows the person behind it" why do you change names all the time?

Glen Britza won 5 , 500cc WA State Championships in a row back in the late 60's early 70's.... also raced a sidecar in MX on teh same days..., had a red hunter AMC motor in it... he would take us kids for a lap around the track at the end of the day on the chair..most of the time we had to push it to get it going.. Glen also raced the first 360 Husqvarna Auto that came to Australia in 1976.. Absolute legend...

used to road race the husky, just changed the tyres, that was the 400, got black flagged for passing people on the grass.  When racing sidecars often stopped to change passengers

Hmm undies and poor grammar aside ... I gathered you like to change it but I was genuinely asking why do you like to change it.  Nothing more.  I could make all sorts of guesses or assumptions but thought asking you directly would be the best option.  No sweat but I'd be interested to know exactly why you like to change it.

I thought that too, twin port I believe.
Mainline, no I didn`t delete pages in my mag, only on this forum, why, because the members don`t stick to the main issue, there are too many member on this forum
prefer to take cheap shots at each individual, and they run with the hounds and hunt with the hounds.

I don't find it a problem Dave .. I even said "No sweat".  I was simply asking you instead of listening to others.

But it's okay.  Please let this be the last such discussion within this thread as I fear I have hijacked it enough already and accordingly apologise to the OP.

Now back to Glen Britza's CZ250TP  ;D

Ha Ha, You think your funny.

I think they're funny too.

On a side note, what happened to the thread you started about your new pre65 mount? It disappeared from the Spanish section after someone asked if you knew where the sidecovers could be sourced.

BTW, good luck with the sale of your CZ, Mr Drakeford. Looks like a very nice bit of gear.

I remember know, I replied to the comment and said that the side covers came with the bike, I didn`t know original owner, as I didn`t buy the bike off the fellow who restored it originally.

Please don't attack me as I'm sincerely just asking... But why does everyone shit can this bloke over buying and selling bikes??? I've done plenty of it and made a tidy profit outta flipping collectable or desirable bikes when I stumble across ones that are not my desired cuppa tea. Is this not ok for some reason?? Or have I missed something obvious about the guy or others peoples dealings with him?? Sincerely...just askin??? And yes I know full well that this particular bike is owned by Drakie and not the subject in question!

Regards, Brendan  :)

Thats part of it. No more should be said on this thread as its destroying a legit thread about a cool bike for sale.
If you're that interested, pm me and when I have a spare hour I can give you the condensed version.

Thanks for all your comments guys, and the sign irony, it tickled my fancy. I'm currently negotiating with a buyer at $13G and if it doesn't go there will be a mint, original OSSA Phantom 1974 up for grabs at $6G and a CZ sidepiper 250 and a yellow tank 1971 250, both as original as I can get them.
My attitude with Dave is that he finds interesting stuff; and if you want it, you know you will always be able to prise it out of him. He loves a swap deal.

There will be a listed psychiatric condition soon - Alsopism: where the sufferer will lust after an object, imbue it with great importance, add to its value with accessories, and then when sitting in the owners possession he will be deterred by the slightest blemish and not have the will to remedy it so sells the whole lot.

See you, until the next 'name change' or 'this is a keeper' statement.
ie: not long.
Luv ya Dave.

Thanks Firko, when you inspired by a great topic or a rare individual, it's not hard.
Thankfully I sold the OSSA Phantom '74 for $6000 and the CZ TP is off the endangered list and sitting in the lounge room after I gave the neibours a sample of CZ pipe and gearwhine.
Just have to make up the the $1500 for the Banana JAWA.
Ah, life is grand.
