Superlites or bucket racing is definitely the cheapest. P4 there is a heap more money involved as the bikes in that class are getting collectable, like most things depends on $$$. In Aussie there is pretty much a class for anything on ebay.

A Yamaha RD250LC in P5 250cc would be much better than buckets and cheaper to get a competitive bike.

Thanks folks.
I've got no immediate plans to go road racing again........ I think.........  :-\
I'm just really keen to get to as many historic motorcycling events (of all types) that I can this year, so I want to work out a calendar and book the weekends off asap.
I also want to share some of the shots I've taken and will be taking.
It doesn't look like there's as many cyber racers in the road racing world as there are here. Nowhere near as much internet traffic, at least.  ;D

I see on the MA site that they now run Period 6 (pre 90)
Might be fun to watch but nowhere near as cool as these, I reckon..............

Yeah. They're probably not as interested in recipes for Anzac biscuits, dragging up some benign, mundane post from three years ago or continually posting up pictures of bikes that they've never owned..... ::)

There are two RS125,s on Ebay plus an RS85 ( RS125 with CR80 engine )
The RS125 is a nice bike, that would be my 1st choice then the RS85
The RD is another great bike...

I am going the other way.. I just sold my RS85 to look for something in VMX
Looking for a RM/PE  or a Kawasaki Big Horn or TS400

So....we're limited to only posting pictures of bikes we own? Shit, did I get it wrong. I'd have thought there was some interest in bikes other than our own but it just goes to show how wrong I can be. :-[

With Australia Day looming, here's my favourite Anzac biscuit recipe.......
.
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups plain flour, sifted
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup caster sugar
3/4 cup desiccated coconut
2 tablespoons golden syrup or treacle
150g unsalted butter, chopped
1/2 teaspoon bicarb soda

Preheat oven to 170°C. Place the flour, oats, sugar and coconut in a large bowl and stir to combine. In a small saucepan place the golden syrup and butter and stir over low heat until the butter has fully melted. Mix the bicarb soda with 1 1/2 tablespoons water and add to the golden syrup mixture. It will bubble whilst you are stirring together so remove from the heat. Pour into the dry ingredients and mix together until fully combined. Roll tablespoonfuls of mixture into balls and place on baking trays lined with non stick baking paper, pressing down on the tops to flatten slightly. Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Ok. I could have worded it a bit different and the person I was referring to has flown the coup. But you've gotta admit It's been a lot better on here without the constant bickering over crap that has nothing to do with VMX. The constant mind-numbing bland still lurks in one or two however (posting for the sake of posting.....)

Get her recipe and put it up Joan.

I've got a cousin whose sponge cakes, lamingtons and marmalade have won best in show gold medals at the Royal Easter Show and the Ekka. She's one hell of cook. I got a distinction award (runner up for bronze) with my Chili Con Carne at the Catalina Island Chili Cook-off a few years ago so cooking's in the Firko DNA  ;D.

Dead right Lozz, good lineup again this year, incl Ryan Farquhar, Cameron Donald, Steve Martin and all getting up the Challenge series.
Those pics look like the SA state historic titles at Mt Gambier on new year's weekend : Ken Lucas on the Douglas, and Danny Ahern on the G50.
You are right Tony, the historic r/r blokes do most of their chat round the barbie over a few coldies.... ;)

The most popular bike at the SA Titles was Yamaha RD250LC.
There were almost 20 of them fighting it out in P5 250cc.

I don't know Munt you need to be more precise in your vitriol, otherwise it gets confusing who you are paying out on from the safety of your key board.

More rider I think Mark ;D The Armstrong has a genuine 75HP at the wheel and Steve lowered the lap record at the titles by nearly 2 seconds. Ignition drama's sidlined it though. Where is that fist pic taken in Tassie or SA?

Spot on, GD.  ;D
I was there for a total of 3 hours. Enough time to do the paperwork and get instructions on how to take photos without getting runover (  ::) ) shoot a 80 or 90 photos, catch up with the Aherns very briefly, then get back on the road to home for work again.
But at least I got there!!  ::)

Thanks GD, but I've got to work that weekend. I would have loved to be there as I've haven't been to Phillip Island since the GP in 1990.  ::) But I've got a big wedding to shoot that weekend and I still do need to feed the family on the odd occasion.  :D

Yeah it's a really nice thing, the owner has a ultra rare carbon fibre framed Armstrong Rotax also. From best we can determine 12 were built and 8 remain.

The CB900 roll-a-door is a Rex Wolfenden built bike, been talked about entering a BEARS meeting with the Armstrong to see if it's promptly banned.
Mark will P6 Proddies be at the EC titles? Did you get that KTM stator email?

Armstrong Rotax sounds like BEARS to me. Can't see how it would be an issue, but you never know what has been outlawed in Aussie.

Should be good to go, Lozenge. I've seen Bimota-Yamahas accepted before today, and an Armstrong-Rotax couldn't be less of a Jappa.
BTW that yummy Freddie replica Bol d'Or turned up at the Island Classic a couple of years ago, and even sports an acetate front number plate sporting #19, it is just wonderful !  :o
